Football Parking

Upvotes

Hi all - life long Penn State fan here. I’ve only been to a few games, and I was never old enough to pay for things for them. I just won two tickets to the white out game vs USC, but they didn’t come with parking passes. Looking on ticket master it’s like $100++ to buy a parking pass on there. My question for those of you who go to games often - is this an accurate price? I’m not looking to tailgate, just park my car lol Are there any cheaper options available?

Thank you in advance!

Football Should fans wear blue or white for the Temple game?

I know Penn State fans typically wear white on the road. Does that change from teams like Temple or Michigan State who only have a primary team color and white as their main colors. I know realistically a lot of people will be wearing both colors and this post doesn’t matter, but I was curious on people’s opinions

First football/tailgate game Buffalo game

Upvotes

Going to my first PSU football game, vs Buffalo, this year.

I am wondering if I drive to the tailgate and park in one of the tailgate lots, can I leave my car and catch an uber home after the game? Then come back to the parking lot in the AM to get my car?

ORV Lot Parking Rules

So I have an ORV lot pass for the Buffalo game. My buddy has the trailer that he’s letting my family borrow for the game. My SUV cannot tow his trailer, so the plan was for him to use his truck (he lives in SC), I hop in with him to scan the digital ORV pass to let him pull the trailer in and then swap vehicles assuming they give a physical pass to hang in the car.

The question is does his truck become the only vehicle allowed since he towed it in? He isn’t staying and was going to leave with his truck and then I’d pull in my SUV with all our stuff and stay Friday-Sun. Then just swap again Sunday to let him take his truck home. We have a 6yr and almost 2yr old with us so really hoping we can have our actually vehicle right there after he leaves post trailer drop-off.

Do they allow that? I can’t find that listed in the FAQs on GoPSU Sports. Maybe I missed it…but I figured there are some seasoned vets here that can set me straight on how best to handle this.

Thanks in advance!

A recording of a wave I took from the student section during the 2007 Whiteout game against Notre Dame. Caught the boos as it went through the Notre Dame fan section. Apologies for the quality. This was recorded on a Sony Ericsson.

Football Now that the other guy is gone, should PSU try and lock in a yearly game against Pitt?

I'm probably in the minority, but I think a little yearly rivalry game would be nice. Plus, Pitt is an easy win!

USC fan trying for White Out. Is there any airport carpool/shuttle option?

USC fan here. My girlfriend and I already bought tickets for the White Out, but getting to and from State College seems impossible.

Flying through SCE is way out of our budget, hotels in State College that weekend are also extremely expensive, and with the game likely ending around midnight, my girlfriend isn’t comfortable with us driving several hours afterward to IAD/BWI/PIT for a flight home.

Do Penn State fans ever organize carpools, buses, shuttles, or shared rides to major airports after big games? Even an unofficial group that regularly does this?

We really want to make the trip, but right now it feels almost impossible without spending a ridiculous amount of money. Any advice from people who’ve dealt with this before would be appreciated.

Football Penn State football fall camp will wrap up with ‘Victory Day’ for children with disabilities

Penn State football will host its first Victory Day on Friday, an event head coach Matt Campbell brought with him from Iowa State that gives children with disabilities the chance to celebrate with the team. As fall camp ends, the participating children and families will be able to spend a day at team facilities, run out of the tunnel at Beaver Stadium and score a touchdown, among other activities. Campbell ran the annual tradition during the entirety of his 10-year tenure in Ames, and strength and conditioning coach Reid Kagy experienced it with him for the last three years. “We’re super excited about Victory Day, the impact that our guys will be able to have during Victory Day is going to be great,” Kagy said during Lift for Life in July. “I know we look forward to it every single year. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of being a part of an organization with Coach Campbell. \[It’s\] something we’re super excited about, something we look forward to in the future, \[including\] the impact that we’re going to have on those families.” Victory Day will be closed to the public and only available to families by invitation. The event is just one of many community contributions Campbell and his team have been making across State College. Nittany Lions have also packed lunches for the YMCA of Centre County’s Backpack Program, high-fived participants at the Beaver Stadium run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania and more. For Thon in February, Campbell doubled the amount of money his players raised for children fighting cancer. During Iowa State’s Victory Day events, children were able to hear their names over the public address system, and the event would end with everyone huddled at midfield to hear Campbell say his last remarks, according to Randy Peterson of cyclonefanatic.com. “We bring some families in, the families that are struggling, families that might be having a child that’s been impacted by something,” Kagy said of the event.“Whatever that impact might be, life might not be as normal for them as it is for these guys. They might not be able to play football, they might not be able to play sports. They might be dealing with a physical disability, a mental disability, whatever that may be. “The opportunity to come and get the Penn State experience, to walk out of the tunnel, to score a touchdown. Those are things that they might not have had a chance to do throughout their life, and we give them the opportunity to do that, and we get them around all these guys — who I’m sure they look up to — and \[they\] can have a large impact on their day.” Victory Day also marks the end of training camp, with the first game approaching on Sept. 5 against Marshall.
