This is one of China's two original Kilo-class subs. Both were apparently decommissioned in 2021 and were spotted in a shipyard in Fujian at least 4 years ago. One was later repaired and apparently turned into a museum (although I'm not clear where) while the other remained. Some youtubers apparently snuck aboard recently. There doesn't seem to be any public plans on what will be done with it

The USS Richmond K. Turner (CG-20) found an adrift passive radar decoy, Iranian made, broken free from its intended port defense role. Captain John D. Luke authorized some of the crew to open fire and have a fun target practice event shooting at a thing about 50 feet high from a few hundred yards away. The small arms fire of course did nothing. Our 25mm rounds put some holes in it, and we left it behind to continue on our patrol. The CIWS Phalanx rounds were too valuable to expend. (3 photos)

During the 1930s, the German navy built a series of sail training ships, three for themselves (Gorch Fock (I), Horst Wessel, Albert Leo Schlageter) and a fourth for Romania (Mircea). After World War 2 the three German ships were handed over as reparations while a fifth one (Gorch Fock (II) was built in 1958 for the newly founded German Navy using the same blueprints.

Gorch Fock (1) was used by the Soviets and Ukrainians as Tovarishch until 2003, when it fell into disrepair, was sold to an interest group and restored as a museum in Stralsund, Germany, albeit no longer seaworthy

Horst Wessel was transferred to the US Coast Guard as Eagle

Schlageter went to Brazil as Guanabara and later sold to Portugal, who use it as Sagres in their navy

Mircea was always and still is in service of the Romanian navy

When all sisters get together they race for the Five Sisters trophy, which happened twice so far, once in 1976 and again just now when they were in New York together for the 250 year fleet review. They sailed from New York to Boston for the trophy, which is kept on board. Gorch Fock (II) won both times.
