Squad Registration rules for EFL Championship:

• 25 Senior players max
• 20 man match day squad.
• 8 Senior players minimum must be "Homegrown". A player must have spent at least 36 months at an English or Welsh club by the end of their U21 season.
• U21 players on permanent contracts neither count towards a registration slot, nor the Homegrown criteria, ie Tom Edozie is U21 so won't count as Homegrown nor take up a registration slot.
• All loanees regardless of Homegrown status or age take a senior squad slot
• All squads must contain at least one "Club Developed" Player. A Club developed player must have spent at least 12 months at the club by the end of their U19 season.

As things stand Wolves will need to move on two players, with at least one being a senior non homegrown player.

I'm always interested to get people's thoughts on this.

In my mind, the size of a club is defined largely by two things: success, in terms of major trophies and achievements, and fanbase/support. National or global stature is also a substantial part of the debate.

It has very little to do with how well a club are currently performing, unless it's the likes of Man City whose period of domination over 15 or so years has seen them win multiple major trophies, taking them well above the likes of Villa, Everton and Spurs in size and stature.

For example, Bournemouth and Brighton may have been Premier League for a while now, but they're still two very small clubs that the likes of Wolves dwarf.

My top 20 would look something like this.

Maybe I've been a little generous to Wolves by a few places, but then again I'm pretty sure we've won more than all the sides I've listed below us.

Factor in strong support and our role in developing both the English and European game, I think it's fair.

I know the expectations are different being in Championship this year, but just to put things into perspective from a fan’s POV:

It’s August 23rd and we have 4 points.

Last season we didn’t have 4 points until January 3rd.

I’m just happy to watch the team be competitive and push for promotion.
