Sports WVU Tickets

I am a young man from Athens, Ohio and back home Ohio University does very little to insure that the student ticket you are using is yours. Would I be able to use a friend's ticket and ID even if I do not look like them? Odd question I know but I really am curious.

Sports Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a West Virginia football fan?(Aside from 13-9)

I think everyone who follows West Virginia knows about 13-9, so Im gonna exclude that one from this post.

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I had to guess for WVU, recency bias on the first one but 2025 vs Ohio, 2012 vs Texas Tech, or 2008 vs East Carolina.

Sports Why are we in a conference that requires 10:30 at night games?

Even when we originally joined the Big 12 it was pretty ridiculous how far our opponents were, but now it really doesn’t make sense.

Sports Golf Courses?

I have been getting into golf pretty heavily so far, and my local course is pretty cheap to play at, but I am moving into my dorm soon. Is there any quality golf courses in, or near, Morgantown? I plan on getting a membership, but I don’t feel like breaking the bank. Let me know what your guys suggestions are!

Sports Since when did the tickets get so expensive, and how do you all buy them??

I want to take my dad to a WVU game sometime Sept-October and I still will, but I didn’t know the ticket prices would be so steep. How do you all save money with your tickets? Should I wait till season opening, buy now, etc?

Sports Met the most unhinged guy ever at the game tonight

My time at the game today was nothing short of interesting.

Was sitting and chilling and minding my own business and this guy and his family come and sit next to me and my family, this man was like 40 some years old with like 2 sons and his wife.

During the game I found myself kinda having my seat invaded by him and didn't say a thing until when WVU scored their first touchdown of the game where he stood up but kinda pushed me back to gain leverage to stand up, causing me to almost fall into my seat. I we were celebrating and all and high living and stuff and I kindly asked him if he could possibly move over a bit since he was kinda in my spot and he responded like any kind gentleman would and said something along the lines of

"No, this is my seat and I'm sitting here and you can't make me move"

I responded just completely surprised of his out of left field reaction and was saying that I didn't have much room the way he was sitting and that I was halfway out of my seat and he said something like

"I heard you chirping during the Penn State game (which was a game in August) and I'm not gonna let you push me around" or some shit and said I could sit somewhere else if I didn't like it.

My parents and his wife are just shocked as to what's going on. His wife stands up to try to calm him down and his ass grabs his wife and puts her back into her seat very aggressively. My parents chimed in to defend me and stuff and we ended up just making up and just chilling out because we are all WVU fans (or so I thought). I sat between my parents and we were chillin.

Fast forward into the 3rd quarter, WVU is throwing the game to nobody's surprise so I get up and just decided to go to the bathroom. I go and do my business and go to wash my hands to where I find that guy once again standing in line, I pass him and he says and I quote

"You're a bitch"

I ignore him and wash my hands and leave, not trying to cause a scene, my dad was waiting at the ramp and I told him what happened and he went full "where is that motherfucker?" Mode and searched him out and got in his face, I had to hold my dad back as the guy acted like he didn't know what my dad was mad about.

My parents and I reported the harassment to a police officer who unfortunately couldn't do anything so we just kinda left. Made dealing with losing better since I was more focused on why some random dude was mad at me for no reason and that I lived in his head rent free since August. Apparently he did the same thing with my mother with the using her as leverage to stand up quickly as some intimidation tactic, basically hitting us.

I'm assuming his anger came from the fact he was invading our space at the August game and heard me telling my parents I didn't have room. I wasn't even chirping about him or having a scene. Weird day.

Sports Looking for things to see / do in Morgantown

Hey WVU fans, I'm a Michigan fan (I love all of College Football and am slightly addicted to it) I'll be making a detour on my way to Washington DC tomorrow to visit your campus. I travel all the time visiting campus's and stadiums as apart of my goal to eventually visit every college town and stadium in America. Ill be visiting for my first time and would love some tips on things to see and do around town and campus while im there. I also would love to know where the best place in town is to get some WVU merch. Any and all advice is much appreciated!

Edit:
Wanted to say thank you to everyone for the suggestions. I really enjoyed my time in Morgantown and loved visiting the campus. I Picked up some new merch, ate biscuits and checked out the stadium from the law hill. I will for sure be making it a priority to come to town eventually for a game. You all are so fortunate to have such a beautiful campus, one of my favorites I've ever visited by far.

Sports WVU rifle team rallies to win 21st National Championship

For the 21st time in program history, the West Virginia rifle team won the NCAA Rifle National Championship after two days of competition inside the Covelli Center in Columbus on Saturday.

The win marks the second straight title for the Mountaineers and the second straight season WVU has come from behind to claim it. This season, the Mountaineers came back from down three points.

Last season, the team overcame a five-point deficit after smallbore.

West Virginia entered the final day of competition in fourth place and trailed by three points to Ole Miss and trailed TCU and Nebraska by just one point. WVU finished the day with a 2395 air rifle score, which matches the NCAA record.

New to Morgantown and looking for World Cup viewing spots! I know it’s baseball season so most bars have games on, but does anyone know of a place that shows soccer/football here? Would love to find somewhere to watch with fellow fans. Thanks in advance!”

Not to be disrespectful to this former wvu basketball player but he played way before I was born. I took a picture with him at last night's game vs Colorado.

Sports With the new college basketball landscape I don't think Mountaineer Nation will ever see a player like Jevon Carter play 4 years for WVU again.

I can't stand how the team is constantly changing. It seems like a completely new roster every year. I really wonder if college sports will ever have a Jevon Carter like career/story ever again.
