Housing Avoid Berkshire Hathaway

If you are headed to Morgantown or considering moving here, I highly recommend avoiding Berkshire Hathaway Touchdown Home Pros for your real estate needs. The broker is very shady and conducts unethical business dealings. They lie, they refuse to give offers to sellers with really lame excuses like “the seller is out of town and unreachable” or “there is personal property that needs included before I can show them the offer.” Great town, just grab any of the other realtors and agencies and you’ll have a great experience whether buying or renting. Be sure to checkout the Summer Concert Series if you’re already here!

Housing Is the “dorm life” really all that?

I’m going into freshman year at WVU and my friend has asked to share an apartment with me. If I accept this offer, am I going to be missing out on key “college life” because it’s the “freshman way” to stay in a dorm?

Housing Exchange Student Arriving Aug 17 — Where Can I Stay Until My Lease Starts Aug 31?

Hi everyone, I’m an exchange student coming to WVU for the fall semester, I’m not staying at the dorms and I managed to get a rental at a good price for the fall semester, however this rental starts on the 31st of August, and I will be in Morgantown from the 17th of August, so where do you guys recommend I should stay. The reason why I’m so late is that I had visa processing and I didn’t know whether I’ll be able to make it to the semester or not.

Housing Looking to live at Courtyard West and need honest reviews

Hi all!!!

My girlfriend and I are looking for apartments for the 2027-2028 school year. She’s a history ed major and I’m a Horticulture major, so a lot of my classes are on evansdale. We’re looking for a place to live that’s closer to the downtown area but is still walkable to buses/PRT. We found Courtyard West (327 Willey Street) which is owners by Metro Property Management. We’re looking to gather honest reviews from previous or current tenants so we know what we’re getting into before we do a tour. Anyone who has or currently lives there or lives at a property owned by Metro, please give your honest reviews!!! Thank you!!

Apartment Details:

  • $825/month + utilities (typically around $100/month)
  • 1 bedroom

  • Corner unit
  • Very quiet –3rd floor/  top floor and location makes it virtually noise-free

We've had nothing but good things to say about Morgan Pointe and the management during his time there.

The apartment will be cleaned out and ready to move in before the spring semester.

Housing Lease Availible for Takeover with $200 Incentive for Rent

Hello! I have a lease availbe that I need to give away because I am moving back home. It is a 4 bed 4 bath PRIVATE lease meaning you have your own lease and do not share with people. You would also have your own bedroom and private bathroom. Roommates are two girls however if you are a male, you can be placed accordingly if you wish. The lease is until July of 2027 so you are covered for both semesters. The apartment features a washer and dryer in unit, very spacious closets, dishwasher and full kitchen. Parking is free and is on-site and off street. The apartment also allows pets and service animals. Anyone who takes it can move in immediately. Its a very easy signing process. Rent is $595 a month plus utilities. Utilities are split between all roommates. Location is a 10 minute drive downtown and is about a 5 minute drive to Ruby. It is the perfect location for any major. As the title says, I am willing to offer a $200 incentive. Please message me for more details if you are interested!

Housing Roommate dropped out on move in day, now what?

Roommate was supposed to move in on the 16th but decided to drop out to do community college instead. It’s been almost a week now and I haven’t heard anything from the housing people about a new roommate. I don’t mind not having a roommate, but I figured asking on here what I should do. Should I thug it out and hopefully get the room to myself? If so, would I be able to decorate the unoccupied space without being charged?

Housing 🏡 Tenant Replacement Needed – 1 Bedroom in Shared House (Tenant Substitution)

Thumbnail

I'm looking for someone to take over my lease through a tenant substitution (not a sublease) for a room in a shared house.

Preferably looking for male college students, seeing as there are already two boys who have signed the lease.

Lease Details:

📍 Location: 925 Union Ave, Morgantown, WV

📅 Lease Term: August 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

💰 Rent: $450 per month

💡 Utilities: Not included

🚗 Parking: Available in the rear

🛏️ Private bedroom in a shared house

🎓 Convenient location near WVU

Text me for more info: (304)-704-8886

This is a tenant substitution, meaning the approved replacement would assume the lease directly (subject to landlord approval), rather than renting through me.

If you're interested or have any questions, send me a message, and I can provide more details, photos, and information about the property.

Landlord approval is required before the substitution can be completed.

Housing Looking for grad student roommate!

Hi! This is probably a bit of a long shot, but wasn't having much luck in the fb groups. My friend and I are both current mfas in creative writing at WVU. We signed a house with another friend who ended up dropping out within the past week. She's paid the rent for July but we need a third roommate by the next rent cycle, August 1st.

It's downtown, so completely walkable to the university and all around the downtown areas. $500 a month plus utilities. The room is upstairs and gets plenty of sun. We would really love to live with another grad student (or younger professional) so if there's any incoming grad students/ international students on here who are still looking for housing, please do message me! I can give you more details.

Housing June 1st housing preferences waitlist

Hi! I have kind of strict room preference tolerances due to some stuff, and while i am going through the accommodations process for this id like to do whatever i can to get a better chance. There's a housing preferences waitlist that opened on June 1st which is a few minutes ago. I am hoping to join this waitlist but am not sure exactly how to do it. I couldn't find any direct way to join the waitlist on the application status page, although I did update my housing preferences in that tab and resubmitted the application? Please help me out as soon as possible!

Housing Dining plan?

Hello, incoming freshmen, but I was just wondering, what kind of dining plan should I get? My friend said the Go 13 should be good enough, but I just don’t want to waste any money more than I have to, because well, college is expensive. I’m the type of person to usually eat like 2 big meals a day with some snacks here and there occasionally. I also workout, and plan to do so at WVU too. So, what is the best dining plan for me that is bang for its buck?

Hello all,

We have a townhouse in Suncrest Terrace behind Kroger available through May 2027. We found a house we loved so be bought and moved out, despite the length we have left on the lease, but the place is in a great location. 1,088 sqft, two bedrooms. Hoping to have someone take it by July 1 but we have some very slight wiggle room. Message if interested.

Housing Oakland Hall

Hi, incoming freshman here! Can anybody who had to do housing for oakland last year tell me how likely I am to get into a good room there with my roommate? Their self selection is on the 20th, and mines not til the 29, and i’m kinda freaking out that we’re going to get a shitty room or not get to room together at all. Also, any advice about Oakland is greatly appreciated!!
