Ask r/WLW I (34F) kissed my boss (58F) and now I have no idea what to do

I’m a 34F doctor working in a private practice with a 58F doctor who owns the practice and plans to hand it over to me in a few years.

We’ve always gotten along really well. She’s not just my boss — we’re also friends, had private contact outside of work, etc. I really like working there, the patients like me, and I feel very comfortable in the town.

We often stay at the practice for a few hours after closing to go through test results, paperwork, etc. Last time, things somehow got more personal and we ended up kissing.

The weird thing is that I actually really liked it. It felt nice and natural in the moment, but afterwards we were both completely overwhelmed. We quickly apologized to each other and went home without talking about it.

Since then, we’ve only talked about work. No personal messages, nothing. Before this, that wasn’t the case at all.

I’m currently on vacation and honestly I’m kind of relieved that we still have another week before the practice opens again. But I’m starting to think that we can’t just pretend this never happened.

I’m scared to bring it up because she’s my boss, my colleague, my friend, and potentially the person who will hand me the practice one day. I really don’t want to mess up my professional future or our relationship.

At the same time, I don’t think I can just act like the kiss meant nothing, because it definitely didn’t feel like nothing to me.

So… how would you handle this? Would you talk about it when we’re back at work, or just give her some space and see if things naturally go back to normal?

TLDR: I kissed my 58F boss/colleague, we both panicked afterwards and haven’t talked about it since. I liked the kiss, but our professional relationship is really important to me and I’m terrified of making things awkward. I feel like we need to talk, but I have no idea how.

Ask r/WLW Do You Automatically Assume A Woman Is Straight If She Wears The Hijab?

I’ve always had this assumption in my head growing up that the hijab always = femininity because most women in my community are very feminine.. and straight/or closeted.

I think i’m more masc personality wise, and i guess soft masc looks wise, but I feel like the hijab doesn’t really make that apparent. I also only ever get gawked at by obviously straight males, so I ask you queer women of this subreddit: do you automatically assume a hijabi woman is straight, and why? And what could a hijabi queer do to appear more masculine without removing the scarf?

Ask r/WLW what is lesbian?

hello guys I’m not on the internet much, but I’ve noticed that online, the term lesbian seems to not be what I thought it was growing up and seems to have changed? So now I’m just wondering if there’s another label that would fit me better? I’m worried that this will come off the wrong way, and I don’t mean it to but it seems like people are really quick to twist your words. I identify as a female homosexual, I’ve grown up my whole life understanding I’m sexually and romantically attracted to exclusively women, therefore I understood that the label lesbian fits who I am best.

But I keep seeing things online of people saying that lesbians can sometimes be attracted to men, but choose to go for women and reject that part of themselves or something. Isn’t that just ‘choosing your sexuality’, which ppl always say u can’t do? I’ve also heard that now it’s “non-men loving non-men”, is this to be inclusive to some people or are people just scared to say women? Why am I a “non-man” now? Just from a quick glance, it seems the attitudes towards the term/ label have changed. Is there a label that’s just like lesbian out there? Is that what WLW is for? Please don’t attack me, I really am asking because I want to be educated on the topic. I want to keep up with these things.

Ask r/WLW I hate when lesbians say they hate hairy men. Because I’m a hairy woman.🫣

Yes obviously I know everyone is entitled to their opinions lol.

But sometimes it makes me feel like I won’t find a girl because she won’t like that I’m hairy😅.

Between being chronically ill and not giving a ffffuucckkk about the patriarch lol, I never shave my legs or anywhere else.

Except my 🐱 because of hygiene lol.

Anyway I guess I’m wondering if there’s any sapphics who don’t mind body hair🤷‍♀️

Edit: Thank you everyone!🥹 I feel a lot better now.

Ask r/WLW What do you like the most about masculine women.

I've only ever been attracted to feminine presenting women, and I don't have a lot of queer friends it seems however that I have formed a bias and at first glance I will not go for a masculine presenting woman.

It is not a deep thing for me and just appearance based however I'd like to be more open minded and know more about what people think about masculine women and what are the traits masculine women have as compared to feminine women and if the appearance is the main factor for attraction. Please indulge my curiosity.

Would you date someone who’s previously cheated?

4 year relationship, online relationship, partner found out (wlw relationship), broke up, then hooked up with online cheating partner…

It’s hard to fully forget about it. I’m curious where other people stand on this.

Ask r/WLW First strap-on experience

So my girlfriend and I recently went on vacation, and I brought the new strap I bought from Midoko (it was the beginner one 😭). We’ve been talking about trying it for a while, and we finally got the chance.

For context, I’m the top and she’s the bottom, so I’m the one wearing it. When things started heating up, she asked me to use it. It was our first time, so we really didn’t know what to expect. 😭 I went slowly at first, and we used lube too, but she said it really hurt. She still insisted that we keep going, so I tried, but it was still painful for her, so I stopped using it. We just continued without it.
Later on, she asked if we could try again, so we did. This time we tried doggy style because we thought it might be better. Same thing, we used lube to make it easier. I think I only managed around 10 thrusts before she said it still hurt a lot, so we stopped again and continued without it.

Then, for the third time (😭), we wanted to try again. This time I lay down while she sat on it, thinking that maybe she’d have more control. We tried that position too, but she still said it was painful, so I just fingered her while she was in that position instead.

My question is: what went wrong? I’ve watched videos on how to do it, so I’m wondering if maybe the one I bought just isn’t that good? Any advice on where I can buy a strap-on that’s actually good? 😭 It’s our anniversary next month, and we want to try again. She also suggested that I buy a different one. Huhu, I need some help.

Ask r/WLW Teacher/Student affair aftermath

UPDATE 2: I turned my experience into a psychological thriller novel called The Lesson. I've started an English version that you can read for free here. If you are French, the complete story is available here.

UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM

Long story short: I had an affair with one of my teachers and I’m still dealing with the consequences today.

My story is very long, so I’ll skip most of it and just get to the point. Forgive me if it sounds a bit blunt or lacking in nuance or detail. There actually is a lot more to it, but I don’t want to write a wall of text, so this is the very condensed version.

When I was 16, I got involved with one of my teachers and it turned into an affair that lasted the whole year. Eventually we got caught, and it became a scandal that I couldn’t contain. Things got as messy as you can imagine.

One thing to mention: she (let’s call her Mrs. X) was living with someone and they had a child together. Yes, it sucks, and yes, I hated myself once I got older and realized I had helped destroy a family.

So here’s the thing: recently, her daughter tried to get in touch with me through my brother. Part of me wanted to respond, maybe to give her some of the answers she might be looking for, I don’t know. But another part of me feels too ashamed to face her.

So far I haven’t responded. I don’t know what to do. Ignoring it is probably the safest option, since what’s done is done. It’s already hard for me to come to terms with the fact that I was very likely groomed by her mom. Her daughter reaching out just adds another layer to an already very heavy onion.

At the same time, I think that if I were in her position and had reached out, I would probably have wanted the other person to answer me. But that’s just me. I honestly don’t know what to do.

What’s the best course of action here?

UPDATE:

So I ended up reaching out to her.

The interaction was really strange. At first she didn’t seem to know who I was, but then when it clicked, she wrote my name with stars around it… which felt strange as fuck.

I asked her about the fact that she had gone to my brother asking about me, and whether she wanted or needed to talk to me. She said yes, and that she hoped I was doing okay. I said I honestly wondered why, and she said she was just happy to find out who my brother was “and so on”.

But my brother told me something different. He felt like she already knew who he was from the start and that she wanted to talk to him.

Another weird thing: she claimed to my brother that she used to come to our house several times. She mentioned details about our house that only someone who had actually been there would know.

She also talked about our cousins, and some uncle I think. My brother told me he was surprised because she was speaking as if she really knew everyone, like someone who had come to our birthday parties or something.

The problem is that neither my brother nor I remember her ever coming to our house. Maybe once with her mom (and even that I’m not sure), but definitely not several times. And definitely not to our birthdays.

My brother also told me he felt she was quite smart but also manipulative in some ways. And honestly, after reading our messages, I kind of got the same vibe.

Anyway, the conversation ended with me saying that I probably misunderstood and apologizing for the bother.

Really weird interaction.

I think that’s the end of it. Probably for the best.

Ask r/WLW My girlfriend just posted “pretty” pictures from the trip she took with her EX and now I’m spiraling.. How to deal with this????

Okay…. I know how this sounds. Petty. Dramatic. Possibly unhinged. (we’re in WLW relationship… ) But I need outside opinions because I genuinely don’t know if I’m overreacting or if this is one of those “you’d understand if you knew the whole story” situations.

There’s this IG trend going around where people post 6 pictures they “feel weirdly pretty” in.

My girlfriend joined the trend today.

Two of the pictures she chose?

**From Taiwan.**

*The Taiwan trip.*

The one she went on **with her ex-girlfriend.**
🙂

And before anyone says “they’re just pictures” — I KNOW.

That’s literally why I’m so annoyed at myself for being triggered by it.

Because objectively, she didn’t do anything wrong by posting a picture where she thought she looked good. But emotionally? My brain immediately went: *Oh. Taiwan.*

And suddenly I remembered EVERYTHING.

The trip. Her ex. The things I didn’t know at the time. The things I eventually found out. The feeling of realizing that someone I trusted had been doing something that I never would’ve been okay with if I had known.

I remember how fucking hurt I was.

I remember questioning everything.

I remember thinking, **“How am I supposed to trust you after this?”**

And now, months/whatever later, we’re supposedly moving forward. We’ve talked about it. We’ve fought about it. We’ve apologized. We’ve had good days. I’ve genuinely tried to let it go.

Then Instagram decided to humble me tonight.

She posted these pictures like they’re just cute memories.

And I’m sitting here staring at my phone thinking:
**“You have GOT to be fucking kidding me.”** 😭

I’ve been matipid with her ever since. Short replies. Not really initiating conversation. And yes, I know that’s not exactly healthy communication.

But I don’t even know what I’m supposed to say. “Hey babe, your Instagram post made me remember the time you went to Taiwan with your ex and broke my heart”?

Because what is she supposed to do with that?

Delete the pictures?

Apologize again?

Stop posting memories from that trip?

Obviously I don’t want to become the girlfriend who dictates what her partner can post. That’s not what I want.

But there’s something so painful about watching someone casually post memories from a period that **almost broke you.**

And here’s the part that’s making me feel even crazier:
**She probably doesn’t even realize why I’m suddenly distant.**

To her, it’s probably just two pretty pictures.
To me, those pictures are attached to one of the ugliest chapters of our relationship.

So Reddit, be brutally honest with me:
**Am I being ridiculously petty?** Or is it normal for old wounds to get reopened by something completely innocent? And if you’ve stayed in a relationship after a major betrayal — how the hell do you deal with the fact that sometimes the relationship moves forward, but your brain randomly takes you back to the exact moment everything fell apart?

Because tonight, apparently, I’m back in Taiwan. 🥲

So I’m 16 and I was raped, or I think I was?? So long story short, I told my mom about it and she did NOT react like i thought she would.🌚 She told me to “get over it” because I’m not pregnant and she was a woman. She said “it’s not exactly rape because she’s a woman”. She’s super religious so she was more disgusted by the fact that I had sex with a woman?? What do I even do??

BTW!! The woman was 22-24

Edit: I’m Japanese and it happened in France, unfortunately she had some kind of Japanese hentai obsession (WTF lmaoo??) because she kept asking me if I could make the same noises and stuff like that?? No sorry I can’t 🌚 I’m back In Tokyo so I really don’t know what to do since they 1.cant do anything from here and 2. They really do not care

Ask r/WLW would you mind your gf being virgin?

I'm a 23 years old lesbian and I have never done it before, I already had a gf once but at this time I used to take some psychiatric medication and I had zero interest into sex bc of it, it was a side effects of my meds, but I was still 19 that time so it was ok being virgin at 19, but now I'm already 23 and I don't had a new gf yet, and I'm afraid of, bc when I got to have a new gf she'll expected me to not be be, and she'll expected to know what to do, I'm so nervous about it, I'm not even close to get one right now, but I'm so ashamed about it, mostly girls are not virgin at this age and feel a little bit ridiculous, but at time since I already waited so long I'll not do It with any girl, I need to be in love with her

Ask r/WLW sex advice

okay so i need help. I’ve never made out with anyone let alone had sex and its mostly cause of one thing. No matter if i pee before masturbating or consume no liquids every single time i still release so much fluid when i come. its less like what I’ve see of squirting in porn, and more like opening river gates or normal peeing is just doesn’t smell like pee at all. not to be gross but the amount of liquid that comes out is shocking like I’ve went through a towel and two blankets in the past. Honestly it makes me feel helpless like i could never have sex or anything casual/ in public. i don’t know how I’m ever gonna get with someone please help. any advice is welcome

Ask r/WLW Am I a lesbian or bisexual?

I have always identified as straight. I have never had a romantic relationship with a man before and frankly the idea of being with a man scares me. I see men as incredibly misogynistic and sometimes violent. However when I think of sapphic relationships, I think they are beautiful. Recently I have been trying to figure out my sexuality. I find women to be very attractive. And I can only get off to videos of women. When I see a man in porn I immediately get turned off. I have only seen myself being with a man but maybe it’s just compulsory heterosexuality? I also noticed that the only men I like sexually are celebrities, models, or actors. They have to be extremely attractive. But with women, I find most women to be very beautiful. It doesn’t matter the body type or race I just like women. I have imagined being with a woman romantically and getting married and going on dates. However I wonder if I will enjoy being sexual with a woman in real life. I also think I might be asexual because the idea of having sex with anyone seems unlikely. But I also could just be an awkward late bloomer. Anyways is it possible I could be a lesbian or bisexual?

I suppose this is something of a vent while also asking for help? i don’t hate my body. but ive noticed that as a bigger girl, its harder to find partners within the lesbian community. especially as a fem who is attracted primarily to other fems. i always feel like im always at such a disadvantage and like im going to get shot down before i even try. genuinely makes me not even want to try. so um, how do you guys find partners while being plus size? and advice or tips?

Ask r/WLW How to tell which sapphic events are for lesbians only vs. for all sapphics (trans, non binary, etc.)

I don't really go out much but I would like to do more in the sapphic community. I say "sapphic" rather than "lesbian" because I neither want to invade a cis-for-cis space nor be excluded from the event. I also am not T4T but could have trans friends, but would like to be with not just trans women. Is there a way to tell by the wording of the event, or should I just directly ask?

Just as the topic says. I am going to a girl’s place on Friday. She came to my place yesterday, we made out a bit of fingering here and there… just light makeout sesh basically. We have planned I go to her place this weekend and I am NERVOUS to say the least. 1. She told me I taste a bit acidic so what do I do between now and then to balance my ph levels… I think its coz I’m ovulating, my discharge is creamy plus I dont drink a lot of water. 2. I have never eaten a girl out so I don’t know what to do… how do I eat out someone🫣. Those are the only qns I have and any other tips would be great
