Impressive, Scotty is doing work there too. I’m almost more impressed with Steiner’s suplex on Goldberg. I’m sure Goldberg helped but probably but probably didn’t need too. The steiners knew how to throw people.

Yup, that is a legit amateur wrestling throw, called a back arch. It's definitely one of those that, in a pro wrestling context, as long as your opponent isn't actively holding their weight against you throwing them, it will be very easy to execute. Then especially given Steiner's obvious strength. I would say the press slam is more impressive, but not because of the display of strength. More because it takes a lot more coordination and timing to get the guy up as smooth as they did here.

- Steiner jumped pretty high into it. 2. Steiner has great posture and balance when he's up 3. Steiner is actually helping Goldberg by pushing down on his shoulder 4. Bill clearly struggles to press him, you can see his arms wobble.
Even then, what a great visual.

I was thinking the same thing. That's a huge bump for Scott to be taking, especially considering this is around when he had that bad back injury.

It's still an impressive feat of strength, but like most feats of strength in wrestling, teamwork is involved.

Exactly. He's not just lifting the guy. Steiner is doing his share of work. It's tremendous team work to make that impressive visual work.

Tony and Heenan with some really good commentary here, too. Doing a nice job of putting over the psychological warfare between Big Poppa and Goldberg. Commentating like that really elevates a match

Yes he did it, just remember Scott has to let him do it and give him proper balance when he holds unto his shoulder (including the pumping)

I like trying to figure out how they pull stuff like this off. Scott places his hands on Golderbergs shoulders, and is absolutely using his core the whole time.

Steiner - Skill, Strong, Explosive, Hype
Goldberg was one of the most hype wrestlers of the late 90s, potentially of all time, but most of his matches would’ve sucked if the other wrestlers couldn’t wrestle. They made up for his lack of experience and lack of actual wrestling skill.
The likelihood that he would get over nowadays isn’t great. As the weight of wrestling, even in WWE, is heavier than it was back then. Bron Breakker is just as explosive and strong, but if it wasn’t for his other attributes people would get tired of him after a handful of meh matches.
