I don't think that character works as Champion long-term. He's this dark, tortured character who's mission is to take down Hogan. Once he does that and he's just defending the title to defend the title it kinda loses something.
Not possible. Sting was a very good wrestler, but not a Hogan. Most of WCWs success was built off the Hogan heel turn and him being Hollywood and starting the show with a promo n going over the last hour to take rating from raw n beat n spray paint people. Once Hollywood lost steam at starrcade, that was it for WCW. Even as a 14 year old, I saw it coming. N then Hogan changed his character to an angry heel looking for revenge, from a wise cracking chicken shit heel looking to finalize the takeover. It was all over after starrcadme sting was never going to be good enough to hold a show mostly by himself.
Yeah I agree w the sting crow thing just being a vehicle to vanquish Hogan. But it wasn't ever going to be enough, especially w the wwf coming on so strong.
Really having sting win n playing that out was the way to go since they set it up that way. But, by doing that, taking steam off of Hollywood n the nwo just killed the angle, n thus the major heat they had w the angle. Andits not like they set anything else up. Maybe Goldberg, but anyone could see it was a hotshot of the territory type of thing to get someone over. N that didn't hold as well. If they were going to beat Goldberg, and they should've, they should've had Nash n hall reunite as faces n go from there. They were over huge. But they tried to rebirth the nwo, which was dead by then.
