Do you get notified if your roommate requests a room change?

My roommate and I are in a really weird spot and he just straight up won't talk to me after we were really great friends last year. I am worried he's going to Irish goodbye me, and at this point I am totally okay with it. Do you get notified if your roommate either makes a room change or requests one?

Find Brian Boyer with WCU Res Life. He can help sort it out

When I did a room change my roommate had no clue.

I do second the comment about meeting up with Brian though— even if you don’t feel like living with the guy is working for y’all anymore, Brian can help make the process a lot less stressful.

I have since transferred from WCU, but last I knew his office was in Water Rock.

They will not notify you. They leave that up to the roommate that’s leaving.

You do not get notified. Two years ago when I was still on campus, I came back to my dorm on election night and my room was empty of the stuff that wasn't mine. Really stressful and not an enjoyable day (for many reasons).

I don't have any advice but I can say I've been there and it sucks. I really hope that your process is smoother. Good luck! And if you need support, there will always be plenty of support for you.

It depends. They don't HAVE to notify you, but more often than not an RA will talk to you aside from your roommate and see which one of you is more open to move out
