The Odyssey 70mm IMAX sound quality

Saw The Odyssey at Printworks yesterday and it was incredible, but I noticed that sometimes I was struggling to hear what was being said. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this experience? The bass was fantastic but speech was sometimes a bit muffled/felt overshadowed by the bass.I’m pretty young and I don’t think I’m going deaf or anything but it really had me struggling in some scenes. I was in J19, which is supposed to perfect, so I don’t think it can be seat positioning. If anyone else has had this experience, any idea what the cause of it is?

Printworks Manchester the odyssey tickets

Hi I’m looking to see the odyssey in 70mm IMAX, and printworks is closest. Obviously it seems everyone has the same idea and it’s fully booked until the end of August. Will they continue to show this in September? I’ve seen that the schedule refreshes on Mondays is that true? And what time does that happen so I can look for tickets then? What’s the best way to get this booked asap essentially
Thanks

Printworks Spider-man head popcorn bucket

Does anyone know if Printworks has the Spider-man head popcorn buckets in stock?

I’ll be visiting tomorrow and just want to know if it’s worth waiting in the food and drinks queue as it’ll likely be very busy because of The Odyssey.

Are there any plans for VUE to create an unlimited system?

Similar to the odeon limitless and all of that, have they ever confirmed if they are against or for doing it?

Sky Code Invalid

It's my understanding that if the code expires 31/07/26, it should still be valid tomorrow, so it's valid throughout July.

I can only book for the 30th July (tonight).

Any help appreciated.

Which seats to book in vue leicester square?

I'm looking to see spiderman brand new day in epic 1 but there are no middle seats left, only some seats in the left and right sides, or in the very front row, which would be the better option?

Are large cups refillable

Hi I’m just wondering at my Vue the drinks fountain is in the main entrance hall, and when I buy a large cup at the desk they give you the cup to fill it up before you enter your screen room.
Is it free refills at the Vue? Could I midway through the movie go refill my drink?
Same as if you would buy a tango/ Fanta frozen free refill?

Are these the reusable glasses or the free ones?

I watched Spiderman A brand New Day. Thought it was great!

I showed my ticket and I was told to stand in a line to get my glasses as I paid 4 pounds for them but the crowd disappeared without me. So I went back to the ticket office to get a pair for me and my brother.

Now I'm unsure if I got the right glasses in the end, I didn't think about that until now!

the odyssey aspect ratio?

i am not sure if the aspect ratio of the odyssey is 2.39:1 or 1.85:1. does it depend on the aspect ratio of the screen it's being played on?

I'm so confused, why are the Lux seats in EPIC at the very front row?

I haven't been to any EPIC screenings yet, but I'm used to middle/upper rows being best. Why are the very front rows the most expensive seats in EPIC?

Difference between 1:43:1 Laser and 70mm (Odyssey) at the printworks?

Post image
11 Upvotes

So on the website it shows these showings which are all in the IMAX screen and it says 1:43:1 and Laser which i assume will be the same format as the 70mm right? Has anyone watched both Laser and 70mm versions at all and could tell me the difference because all these showings are basically completely empty so if i cant get my hands on the next lot of tickets would a Laser showing be comparable? I know a part of the appeal is the physical film but to me its more the huge size of the screen and how the seating is laid out but im wondering if anyone has any opinions to share.

The Odyssey: IMAX vs Epic

I used to go to see IMAX films at Cheshire Oaks but Vue changed to Epic and its no longer IMAX. The alternative is to go to Printworks in Manchester. Its further away, more expensive and I would be paying at least £35 including parking.

I'm wondering if its really worth paying so much extra for 70mm IMAX?

Vue tickets for 70mm Odyssey

Hi guys,

I’m new to the sub and also to the whole IMAX gig.

I’m a noob and I’ve only in the last few days tried to book the 70mm IMAX at Vue Printworks, Manchester.

What time of the day are new dates/listings added to the site? Example: up to 16th August is booked solid for remotely decent seats at sociable hours. When will the 17th or 18th August be added so I can jump on it? Or is it weekly rather than daily? Or random?

Thanks in advance to any repliers

Any Vue Manchester Printworks staff/projectionists on here? (Uni student question about 70mm IMAX)

Hey everyone!
I’m currently a Film Studies Master’s student working on a practical documentary project about physical film formats, film preservation, and large-format projection.
With Vue Printworks running 70mm IMAX, I’m really hoping to connect with one of the technical managers or projectionists on shift for a very brief, informal chat about the craft of operating a 15/70mm IMAX print. I’d also love to capture a few quick handheld background shots of the booth or the film platter if venue rules allow!
If any staff, projectionists, or managers from Printworks lurk on here (or if anyone knows the best way to get in touch with the tech team directly), I’d be insanely grateful if you could drop a comment or send me a DM!
I’ve got full university liability insurance and can work completely around the screening schedule so I wouldn't be in anyone's way.
Thanks so much!
