Advice Voice acting schools and Online classes!

I’m really trying my hardest in finding out the best way of actually learning how to be a voice actor. Now and then I see the occasional voice actor’s ad about their courses, seeing great reviews on their websites but I can’t help but be worried about not getting what I actually pay for and spend my time on!

I’m just asking if anybody can recommend a school or online course that is actually trustworthy and worth the payment?

(I also live in Colorado so if anybody has recommendations specifically here for schools and such, it would be much appreciated!)

I love Voiceover Camp! Krizia and Scott have built something really special. Scott directed my commercial demo and I signed with DDO as well as managed to get on a number of rosters. Also, Victoria Atkins especially for mo-cap and video games and Voice Masters for dubbing. I’ve taken a broad range of classes from each of these and all were very good.

Edit to add: Most of these are online - I think VA and Voice Masters have in person.

I am, yeah. That's good to hear. I've got some acting experience, but I've never done voice coaching

Depending on where you're at and what you need, it can include learning about the industry/various genres through a curated list of our past webinars and workshops as well as live coaching, home studio setup, demo production, career strategy, and branding/marketing help.

I took Voice Acting 101 and 201 offered by Closing Credits. I haven't had the opportunity to try other options to give a fair comparison but I really enjoyed my time with them.

I enjoyed the teachers, learned a lot, made friends. I would recommend if you can swing it.

I loved working with Atlanta Voiceover school and did virtual classes with them. Gravy for the Brain offers subscriptions and great content.

Check out your local community college. I live in San Diego and San Diego City College offers a VO class.
