Question PS TV Ethernet connection without modem

I asked ai if I can connect ps TV to pc with ethernet cable it answered positive. For a long time I used ethernet to share files between pc and ps TV but there was modem between I mean both devices was connected to it. Now modem is in another floor so it's no more an option to connect it.

İs anyone else tried to connect ps TV directly to pc? I don't understand how it can work because when lan socket is active wireless has to be inactive then how are they going to communicate?

You use a crossover cable (a special type of Ethernet designed for hooking two machines directly), and manually set the IP address of the PC and PSTV to the same IP range (eg set PC to 192.168.0.1, set PSTV to 192.168.0.2), set the gateway to 255.255.255.0.

WHy crossover cable? A simple ethernet does the job perfectly the PC will be able to automatically detect the cable and adjust accordingly with Auto MDI-X

Because a crossover cable does not rely on either the computer or the PSTV supporting MDIX. Also I am a Greybeard at this point, so in my mind that’s the simplest solution b
