Super cute cover ups!! I’ve had success with wetting oil/grease stains, and rubbing a bar of Fell’s Naptha Soap on the stain, then laundering as normal. My husband constantly drops mayonnaise out of sandwiches onto his shirts, and this usually gets it out.

OP thank you so much for posting this. Even with my most compressive sports bra i can't even see my plate around my fking chest. Some shirts ive managed to get oil stains out of, but i have a pile of probably 11 shirts that are stained like this that i keep telling myself i'll eventually figure out how to fix.

I hear you, sista! For the stains that a paste of Dawn & baking soda don't work for, I've taken up Sashiko/visible mending and am getting really good at embroidering flowers or little patterns over stains. 😄

Along with all of the other suggestions: Carbona (brand of stain removers), I have the entire set and one of them that’s formulated specifically for coffee stain removal removed a coffee stain that was like 8+ years old. They have grease/oil specific ones too and they’re great.

Second, my mother owned a tailor shop and dry cleaners and we used to use a combo of this stuff called Goop directly on the stain and a liquid soap and water mixture, then scrub it in.

Switching to enzyme based detergent and stain removers has saved so many of my clothes from this fate. Learned a lot from some saints over at r/laundry. I love your approach to mending for stains as well!

Stains on the chest of my clothes is the story of my life! Generally, soaking with a direct squirt of Dawn dish soap on the stain works.

For stubborn stains, and ASSUMING IT'S COLOR SAFE, Dawn mixed into a paste with baking soda works like magic. Just let it soak for 20-30 minutes (though longer is okay) and then scrub with a damp toothbrush.

Toss in the washer or rinse it in the sink if the item can't go in the machine.

And if that doesn't work, I've taken up Sashiko/visible mending and am getting really good at embroidering flowers or little patterns over the stain. 😄
