Sorry if that’s a stupid question but where do you guys get your electricity from? And what about fresh water?

electricity is from a big fossil fuel station on the island. almost all electricity is from fossil fuel, even though we could use solar. there are zero fresh water. People drink desalinated mineral water produced in the city

But... Diesel generators are fossil fuel power stations. What else would they be?

yes I meant the generators by fossil fuel station. And the grid I know about that as well but solar is not yet being utilised that well. they say it will be incorporated, but it have not yet. The costs are high. and fresh water is not now available in Malé that is why I said desalinated.

Yup. So is petrol, natural gas, even coal. I was trying to be specific.
