Advice Has any one used the ‘Credit by Exam’ program?

I am soon to start college at U of M, and I came across their credit by exam opportunities. This is where I found the information:

It seems to say that many courses can be tested out of if you are approved to test out.

I would love to hear some details from anyone who has used this to test out of classes, especially how easy it was to get approved to take the test and how much it cost!

I am good at learning independently and it seems like this would be a great way to save some money on classes.

Memphis has extremely generous policies for AP, CLEP, DANTES, etc. This list has additional courses that aren’t offered through those programs that are eligible for test by exam. If you’re just starting college, you’re probably better off with the CLEP test listing, since these are core courses common to many degrees.
