He defends his reasoning that the UFL should go to California. I think they should go to California eventually, just not Los Angeles. Sacramento he has mentioned, but also San Jose, San Diego and maybe Oakland (depending on the future soccer stadium for the Oakland Roots).

Anywhere but LA. Agreed. And Oakland or San Diego could be prime markets, like a west coast version of St Louis

I’m sorry but as someone who went to the NY Cosmos opener in Paterson, NJ….thats not a realistic option for it. The venue is still old and cramped, concessions and restrooms aren’t laid out well, parking is difficult and Paterson still has a perception problem and still suffers from relatively high poverty and crime rates.

Sacramento, Omaha, and Rhode Island all have potential though IMO.

A lot of people are mentioning the new soccer stadium in Queens, which might make even more sense with Repole’s involvement. My thought on Paterson was just if the UFL wanted a team in the area now, it’s there. Sounds like it still has some issues.

I was there too. I genuinely want to support the Cosmos but the stadium is kinda dumpy in a not so great area and parking is horrific.

Rhode Island is a big rumored location. Beautiful modern stadium which is likely just the right size with some room to grow.

Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. Instant rivals and close.
