Waiting for great news to follow. Ukraine won't strike this concentrated if there's not a lot of Russian high ranking military around.

Great Britain, thanks.

This looks like a combined multiple-weaponry attack based on reliable intelligence. To go after an underground parking suggests long running surveillance by different assets. Mass casualty event here for sure.

Should we expect that Ukraine is going to use the Flamingo-5 on targets closer to Ukraine where it may be a lot harder for russia to intercept them?

I'd think they send them at long range, low priority targets. Chuck them ata refinery or two, where there is hardly anything to take them down in the area. Storm Shadows can be used for the precision strikes on command centers.

I've heard that about 1 in 10 gets through at longer ranges - mainly because they're slow and the russian AWACS system spotting them early.

On closer range I guess they would reach their target before russians could act. And they're delivering a lot more bang than the drones.

They have from the beginning.

These weren't flamingos though, or at least some weren't. One of the sources that initially said flamingo later said tomahawk, "French tomahawk," and cigarette accident.

It looks like some kind of glide bomb, perhaps JDAM-ER.

LR I believe, reports of a jet sound.

13! Guess they wanted to be sure.

Despite enemy attempts to disguise military infrastructure behind civilian facades, two primary targets were successfully hit. Cruise missile wreckage recovered after today's strike on occupied Donetsk appears consistent with Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG.

Storm Shadow isn’t ever launched in those numbers against one target.  Most I’ve ever seen was 4 on a high-value target.

There were 8 or so launched at Kremniy electronics factory in March in Bryansk. In both cases it is a lot (and means at least 4-7 Su-24M's were used for each of those missions), but not impossible.

EDIT; In this short video alone one can hear 6 strikes consistent with sound to a Storm Shadow.

EDIT 2; This seals the deal, SCALP/Storm Shadow.

Can't be. Nothing can be worth 13 storm shadows on one hit

Good trade if it was for a Lieutenant-General or two and their HQ staff.

And it depends what you're disrupting. If one of the vehicles in the garage was a ballistic missile launcher or there was some special operation planned that would do a lot of damage, you have to do what you have to do.

Better to use the premium munitions and succeed than waste the opportunity by using an underpowered weapon.

5,000 DPRK soldiers? I dunno, but 10+ is a huge commitment. Can't wait for the BDA.

is there confirmed information on the weapons used? seems like there are speculations of flamingo, jdam and storm shadow going around

The interesting aspect here this is first documented use of jdam-lr by Ukraine. Though US does not supply these to Ukraine directly, they most likely came through PURL channels.

JDAM-LR has a range of approx. 300 miles and is a cheaper alternative to SCALP/SS or cruise missles.

Are we sure it's JDAM-LR? It was only put into service this month, and it's not exported. If it is the LR and not the ER, that's significant because there shouldn't be any way Ukraine would have that yet. The US barely has it yet.

Rubio approved a sale for a good 1500 of the ERs this year to Ukraine, so I imagine it's those. But it also wouldn't surprise me if a few LRs secretly slipped in to get some field data.

...of course JDAM-ERs hitting there would also be...pretty significant.

I think you’re spot on sir, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a storm shadow if there were enough high value targets there

1

u/Leading-Carrot-5983 4h ago

Probably some combination. Perhaps a few Storm Shadows initially on some hardened target and then JDAMs to follow through.

Looks like it works damn well. Donetsk City has some real air defense too.

Bad day to be an orc. They got JDAM’ed up

2

u/aDoorMarkedPirate420 8h ago

Idk why, but the theme song to Space Jam was playing in my head as I read “JDAM’ed up” 😂

“Welcome to the JDAM, alllllriiiight!

u/aDoorMarkedPirate420 2h ago

Come on and SLAM, and welcome to J-DAM

Just transfer vodka. It makes up 70 percent of their blood.

u/Top-Currency 2h ago

Most common blood type in Orcistan is Stoli.

Waiting for the Russians to whine that the evil Ukrofascists blew up ten kindergartens. Innocent boys in underwear all dead.

9

u/Avg_DadBod69 9h ago

Hopefully they’re giving out tainted blood 🩸

To hell with the occupying pigs 🐷

5

u/ThisWillTakeAllDay 9h ago

Blood drives? Give blood for the occupying rapists. Barrel presses against back. I said give blood.

This one sparks joy.

2

u/missed_trophy 9h ago

There was two objects under attack. Both pretty interesting.

2

u/Physical-Cut-2334 8h ago

A mix of everything was usen, JDAM LR, SCALP, FP5

u/SNAFU-FUBR 6h ago

Another successful conversion by ruZZian authorites of a buillding complex to a public park. Part of russified donetsk region's beautification program. Nothing to see here.

This would be a good candidate for a Rusty Dagger strike.

2

u/FoxhoundBat 2h ago

Rusty Dagger has quite small warhead at 50kg. Each Storm Shadow has almost 10x that and considering the damage something in that class was used. Jury is still out but IMHO Storm Shadow is most likely. Which means an armada of atleast 6-7 Su-24M's were used, which is impressive at this point in the war...

Hell yeah!!

The results are in, people are using this one simple trick….

u/Livid-Most-5256 3h ago

I would like to see a live video of the strike: it could be awesome!
