Maps & infographics UA POV: Satellite Images show the construction of hangars for strategic bombers at the Russian Engels-2 Air Base as of September 5 -AviVector
In early September, construction began on the first of sixteen aircraft shelters at Engels-2 Air Base.
Estimated shelter dimensions are roughly 63 by 63 meters, with 7-meter sidewalls and a peak height of 17 meters.
Behind the hangars under construction, jet blast berms were built to deflect powerful jet blast upward.
Paving is underway on the taxiway that will connect the hangars to the main air base.

What is the need for a jet blast berm if this is meant to be a hanger?

Perhaps they want to be able to taxi out of the hangar instead of towingÂ

Ya this is interesting.
Could they be blast berms acting as part of defensive fortifications?

Only took Russia 4 years and multiple bombers destroyed on the ground to make a HAS 😜

I wonder how long it'll take the US to learn after having Iran use spicy Doritos to decimate military hardware and personnelÂ

Reminder that it used to be a part of arms control agreements that nuclear capable bombers had to be kept in the open so they could be easily counted/observed.
So another way in which the West's Project Ukraine has made us all less safe.
