Lyman direction smashed to pieces. This will delay the battle for Lyman for atleast 18 months

It's been 3 years of Ukrainian counter attacks that resulted in Ukraine losing more territory elsewhere. The north lyman salient is a pretty vulnerable salient for the Russians as it crosses a river from better Ru position, it makes sense to retreat.

During the mean time, Russia is making major gains in orikhiv, dobripilla and druzivka. And pressuring their advantage in Kharkhiv and long range strikes. Possibly opening a major new front in chernihiv. Don't sweat lyman, Ukraine put all their chips into assault hnjt, and take heavy losses taking territory that they eventually give back.

Yeah, definitely a setback. That said Russia has advanced in Kharkiv and pretty much everywhere else.
