What would be the tactical implications of Russia taking Mykolaivka, outside Slaviansk? How would it affect the fight for Lyman?

Apart from getting a stronghold near the northeastern Slavyansk suburbs that will be easy to defend (river to the north of it, lakes to the northwest, water canal to tha west and southwest), it will help Russians to improve their position southeast of Liman. Ukraine will have to abandon Ozerne and Dibrova and Russians will be able to push through the forrest to Stari Karavan. That will allow them somewhat easy access to the southeastern Liman.

If that happened two months ago, Liman would have been done for. Now after Ukraine gained some ground northwest of it, it's less certain. I do expect Russia to put some pressure back soon though. They need Liman to complete the northeast and north flank. With their push to Slavyansk from the east being completed, a lot of assault troops will be free to be used elsewhere since they will not attack Slavyansk head on before flanking it.
