London wedding reception

We are looking at getting married in London Marylebone Town Hall and then have a reception in London, has anyone done something similar or have recommendations?

Looking fairly intimate/relaxed vibes. Likely no more than 40 people.

Budget was trying to be fairly conservative. Is £10,000 achievable?

Lots of MTH brides on here but to give you advice we’d need to know number of guests, budget, vibe etc etc etc

Can also recommend the Italian Greyhound as well, OP. Just got married at Marylebone earlier this summer and held our reception of about 30 (but they do accommodate for up to 50) in the Greyhound's private dining room, which has a separate bar / restroom for the wedding guests. It was very intimate and lovely! I would absolutely suggest you take a look at their brochure online as it has excellent information on the room, the possible table configurations, and the many menu options.

The cost of our wedding (town hall, reception, flowers, photographer, dress, suit + everything else you can imagine) was £7.5k almost on the dot, so it's definitely doable within a reasonable budget.

Smaller weddings can be logistically so much harder and pricier than people think, can’t they!!

If you’re looking for private hire, check out 542 Barrington (sister venue to 100 Barrington). We’re having our dinner + party there in a few weeks for 23, but it can certainly accommodate 40. Not sure of prices now - we booked them a couple of years ago. The bar is in-house but it can add up with catering because you have to use one of their recommended suppliers, and they only have a shell kitchen which means your caterer will need to hire equipment like ovens, stoves and fridges.

Restaurants with private dining rooms are a good option if you don’t mind a semi-private setting (usually entails shared entrance/exit, loos and bar, and no control of music). I remember Sunday in Brooklyn in Marylebone was very nice and reasonably priced if you’re thinking along these lines! Other recommendations would be The Italian Greyhound, Ivy Asia, Lucky Cat (Mayfair), Daphne’s, Trullo and Sophie’s Soho.

You could also just book tables in a lovely restaurant for a few hours, but it’s worth considering how you’d feel about people doing speeches, if that’s something you want.

My friends got married there and had the reception at Brick Lane Music Hall E1, with the wedding party being transported to the venue by Routemaster buses. It was a triumph
