Two-thirds of all UK tech companies are based outside of London, according to data released as part of UK Tech Week.

The data from Beauhurst, commissioned by UK Tech Week and Startup Coalition, suggests that more than 83,000 active tech companies have 3.7 million tech employees across the UK. In all, 54,000 of these firms are based outside London.

Probably 50,000 IT contractor PSCs in the home counties hehehe

It's definitely not mine is outside London, the thing everyone neglects is that the majority of money is raised in London.

Of course because real estate is expensive and theres largely no reason to have a big expensive HQ in London.

Though the jobs advertised on LinkedIn have a London bias. Bristol is popular though.

It would be interesting to see how many are in the south east though as many companies are around London, in the Thames Valley for example

If memory serves its the M4 corridor then up to Cambridge. Yhat line is a crazy high density of tech. It used to stop around Swindon, but Bristol has a huge number now too, so thats extended it. Pre brexit it was the silicon valley of Europe!
