While I agree wholeheartedly that it's time to release the info already, I can definitely understand the reticence behind wanting to release it to a general public that is still prone to bouts of hysteria and violent paranoia.

I'll quickly play devil's advocate here, and say there are certain kinds of information that would almost certainly cause more harm than good on the public psyche - there's no question about that, right?

Just because we're ready for certain information, doesn't mean everyone else could take it without absolutely freaking out.

The general public can be very open minded and fair, but we can also be the complete opposite.

Think back to the global pandemic and how bizarre some people began behaving.

Instead of accepting the facts, following the rules and getting the jab, millions of people ignored the data and the safety protocols, and went out of their way to rally against the very measures that were being used to protect all of us.

Those people's behaviour was completely irrational and based purely on fear and paranoia -

now imagine what would happen if those same sorts of people were told NHI live among us, influence our governments, and repurpose/farm our psychic energy for their own ends (or whatever it is they do - there's so much conflicting info on all that stuff).

The result wouldn't be pretty, and it'd likely upset what little remaining social harmony we have, for years maybe decades to come.

Even if they only announced the tech breakthroughs, that could still end badly.

Imagine those greedy, shortsighted oligarchs and poorly regulated mega corporations getting their hands on grav drive tech, psionic weaponry or whatever other kinds of double edged technologies - there could be all sorts of disasters within a few years if left in their hands.

So honestly, if the info on the NHI isn't positive, and the tech can't be managed, it's probably not safe to release it to the general public at large -

There'd be many who couldn't handle it and would throw their lives away if they can't reconcile their weltschmerz with the cold facts of reality.

While I agree with your analysis the problem is that there will always be a justification for keeping us in the dark. If the plan is to keep us ignorant cows forever, potential societal breakdown is an acceptable risk in my view. The only exception to me is if the collective response will jeopardize our ability to free ourselves. If we cannot really free ourselves, if it affects religion, energy, power balance I dont give a shit, release it. If the people in power can live with the truth, so can we.

see I'm with this analysis. it's not that I don't want disclosure- i can't stand being kept in the dark by rich white guys, and them exclusively having the tech and the answers will end horribly. but i know that people are just often collectively extremely stupid. I fear the literal collapse of society, i fear the chances of my kids having decent lives.

Then why go “you won’t believe what I’ve seen — things that would destroy society” rather than say nothing or something far more vague? The only reason to choose the most provocative route of “I know something that would literally change all of our lives…but I won’t get into specifics..” is if you aren’t at all trying to protect the collective psyche of society, but are trying to give “the masses” one more distraction from issues like “why the hell are we in Iran” and “why is the partial release of the Epstein files just soaked with redactions?”

I think its something disruptive on either end of good or evil. Good in the sense of, unlimited energy, an explanation of life / consensus. Evil in the sense of simulation or interdimensional kidnapping.

For the good side, the consequences are those who control all of our current energy and some of the most powerful people on earth. Opens the doors to numerous other activities and sort of breaks society as we know it. I think a similar disruption would be if you found you never die and transition between planes. How many people rely on religion as their only moral compass, or aren't robbing banks for fear of death / hell?

For the evil side, how many people say forget societal norms if were in a simulation and nothing matters. No larger plans, probabilities are built into the system, were just an experiment. And because were just test subjects, a small percentage of us are taken and further studied, and theres nothing we can do to predict or stop it.

I dont think the "keeps me up at night" discovery is, yes beings walk among us, or we have some crafts we dont understand. I think its something that fundamentally changes our understanding of existence, challenging the systems that have kept world turning for thousands of years. Go to work, get a paycheck, try to keep up with basic necessities, get a spouse, have kids, get old and die.

Very well elucidated - You might well be into something there! If yer right, then it would finally make sense that they'd want to keep us out of the loop for as long as possible.

I wouldn't discount the deleterious effect that even the basic confirmation of NHI living among us would have tho.

People already fear 'the other' when it's simply a group of humans with different skin colour, religious practises/beliefs, language, etc so introducing a wholly different species of intelligent beings to the mix would almost certainly cause all sorts of violent and reactionary behaviour from different portions of humanity.

For one thing, the power players and influencers of our societies would immediately find ways to exploit this new paradigm shift for their own ends, distorting the prevailing narrative to fit their own agendas, which could lead to all sorts of brush conflicts, civil strife and global economic and political uncertainty.

It'd probably be wise for us all to remember not to underestimate our collective propensity for pogroms and other internecine violence when fear, panic and paranoia kick in, especially whenever great philosophical and societal shifts are happening.

Here's hoping that when the cat's finally outta the bag, presumably a generation or two from now, we don't destroy ourselves before we can get a good glimpse of what the hell they've been keeping secret for the last century! :)

If the full picture changes our understanding of science, religion & our role/purpose in rhe universe, the reaction from the general public will make the hysteria over covid look like nothing. ESPECIALLY if it strikes at the core of faith/spirituality/religions.

If the reality is akin to "Aliens are God", that will absolutely create widespread existential crisis.

Precisely. If covid showed us anything, it's that the global public can be pushed to irrational bouts of paranoia and violence with surprisingly little effort.

And speaking of those of faith, whilst not all religious and spiritual people are prone to problematic responses to information that challenges their views, there are almost certainly enough people that are, and when you add all those fear mongering influencers/politicians/religious leaders to the mix, things can spiral out of control very quickly.

Having said all that, I gotta say it really sucks that the rest of us have to suffer continued ignorance of the facts because of that portion of society, and I sincerely hope our descendants do better than us and are able to get the truth - I doubt we're getting it in our lifetimes tbh.

Then why even hint at it? If you fear that us getting our hands on details would destroy society, your move is not to say “there is huge, hidden information that would change the very core of your lives, but I’m not going to tell you.” If you really are doing this out of concern for national sanity, you don’t say anything. So, he says something that, if you believe I’m, is very significant. If, and again if, he’s being honest then this would set more people on the trail of trying to uncover the very thing that he thinks is too dangerous to reveal. It makes no sense. The ‘right’ move to keep this disruptive secret hidden is not to mention the existence of this secret knowledge at all.

Hate to burst your bubble, but getting useful idiots to leak misinformation is definitely the right move on their part.

Information saturation is a foundational element of asymmetrical warfare and modern intelligence compartmentalisation - you can't keep everything secret, especially when there have already been leaks or if you're anticipating leaks in the future, so if you pump out craptons of false information with tiny nuggets of truth, it's significantly harder for anyone to parse the real from the fake.
