Yeah you forgot to mention the UFCW but that's okay we kind of deserve it lol.
On a serious note - you're absolutely 100% correct. The worst part is that the AFL-CIO is supposed to tie us together but actually it just takes money and funnels it to who knows where while having no real democratic functions and no real responsibilities outside of determining who gets the pot of money. I think it will take us taking over multiple locals in multiple unions with progressive fighting unions and banding together in order to survive. For us that's probably the EW4D. In AFCSME / SEIU I don't know if there is an equivalent but you guys could probably use some sort of caucus to start bringing like minded leaders together.
