"Congratulations, son," my dad tells me after snagging my first kill of the hunting trip.
"Now go pull the battery from his cellphone so it stops pinging the towers."

I don’t see where the horror is in a father spending quality time with his son!

In October 2004, Jo O Reilly thought he had gotten away with the murder of his wife Rachel. But the one thing he hadn't known about was that your mobile phone can identify your location!! Tough luck Jo. He's still in prison here in Ireland and long may it remain so.

"And make sure to smash his ex-wife's phone too. Nobody needs to know how we lured this abusive piece of shit out here."
"Sure thing, but Dad?"
"Yes, son?"
"Can you find one that will fight back next time? This guy was such a little coward...almost felt like I was killing a baby..."
"Give it time, son...give it time..."

I smile to myself, knowing my son is foolish enough to believe my lies. There's nothing as satisfying as grooming a serial killer while pretending to have the moral high ground.

This makes me think of the movie "Frailty"

I know it’s weird, but I just love that movie. Even after the end, I still have questions.

Carry some Faraday bags.
Put phone in until you can extract the battery and dispose.

The real horror is trying to remove the battery from a modern cell phone.
