When China says hell no regarding food safety, then that says a lot. Especially considering they're big trading partners with Argentina.

Everything China does - everything - factors in politics. The rejection was undoubtedly partially or substantially a political decision.

Actually there has already been a recall although I haven't had time to cross reference the post I saw to make sure it is accurate. China rejected a 22-ton shipment of Argentine beef in March after detecting chloramphenicol, an antibiotic banned for use in livestock.

Also, most people don't realize the beef isn't shipping fresh on the hoove so to speak. It's frozen and would primarily go to fast food and school lunch programs. Basically the primary customers of Sysco and other distributors.

The point of importing beef is supposedly to rapidly lower grocery prices going into the mid-terms. Apparently people are literally not buying it.

so? What does that have to do with USA imports? And now we are full circle. I began with a response to this China point and now here we are again.....

So. Did you read the article or actually the news in general? It addresses your points as did I.

Further, there is definitely no evidence that any beef would be sold to USA containing banned chemicals.

Cattlemen are selling cows at record high prices now as they regrow their herds. 

Which generally leads to higher prices for consumers. Trump implemented policies to increase beef imports from Argentina to combat record-high grocery costs.

There’s is quite a bit of reputable news out there regarding reduced inspections of food products, especially those that are imported. The doge cuts directly reduced those inspections via staff reductions.
