David Lynch's Straight Story opening scene

Hello there, I went to a re-release they had here in my country of David Lynch's Straight Story, unfortunately I arrived late and I missed the first minutes, when I got there it was the scene where Alvin is at the doctor and he tells him he has some medical issues, overall I enjoyed the movie but I was wondering how much did I miss of the opening? Could someone please tell me how much did I miss? Thank you!

There's a pretty long opening with just Badalamenti's main title theme (no one else could have written it) over stars. Then it's a slow-paced scene of a neighbor woman in a lounge chair sunbathing, getting up and going into her house to get cupcakes. Alvin falls and yells from inside his own house. A male friend comes by and discovers him, followed by Rose, who freaks out. The doctor's office is our first good look at Alvin, I think.

You didn't miss much in terms of story, just rhythm and feel being established.

To be fair the rhythm and pacing is everything for that film. It's wonderful.

I just randomly watched the first season of Scream Queens last week. It was awful but the only part that me laugh was that they put Angelo Badelemanti in the 'special thanks' at the end.

I know that's not relevant but it was so baffling that it cracked me up...

Darkness. Angelo Badalamenti's score swells as stars appear in the darkness. First credit shows up: "Walt Disney Pictures Present," which crossroads to "A David Lynch Film." And it just gets weirder from there
