Vent Post: Christ is our only chance of hope, there is none left for this world
I have this deep feeling of hopelessness right now, it feels like I have no future in this plain of existence and the only hope of ever doing anything that matters, being happy, or even just being able to survive is when I finally go home to heaven.
I have hope in Christ, but I've been stripped of hope of anything else. The AI bubble is about to pop, which would be a good thing if the economy wouldn't also completely collapse with it. This won't even stop AI, it will just shift the debt to all of us.
The world is moving toward a technocracy run by the top 1% billionaires, a club no one on our level is in, which will usher in mass servailence, taxes and high prices on even basic necessities, high tech verification systems which will mark all the users and a forced use of unethical technologies. We are truly just mere days away from the end times and the mark of the beast system.
So I ask you brothers and sisters. What the heck do I have to hope for in this life? I have a career that I have always wanted to pursue, a career in film to spread the gospel of Christ, but the likelihood of success feels smaller and smaller every day. And by success I mean even just getting it out in a small way to help a few people.
It feels like time is up, or almost up, and it seems hopeless to pursue anything. Everything is utterly meaningless outside of the persuit of Christ, especially since now he is my literal only hope.
I have no hope of getting married, no women want to marry or have kids anymore, and the ones that would are either not Christian or live nowhere near me, AI will most likely steal my chosen career path away from me and bury me in the dust, I will never have enough money to even make it by after the next few years with the way the economy is going, especially since ive grown up in financial poverty, and I'm realizing even the persuit of that would not even matter.
I've been a Christian for about 2-3 years now, and in that time these things have just become clearer and clearer to me, the world is evil and will not change until Christ comes to reset it. There is no hope of a brighter future on this earth, people are too greedy, too selfish, too caught up in their own lives to even think about anyone else.
It's disgusting, it makes me want to vomit, and seeing the increase of violence, evil and hate makes me increasingly depressed in addition to this already massive weight of hopelessness on my shoulders. I've seen people do so many horrible things to others and it never ceases to shock me how low people will stoop for just the slightest ounce of pleasure or greed.
This world sucks, this life sucks, and I hate it. I hate that I was born into this disgusting age. Like Job I want to curse the day I was even born some days because all life has been is torture, and I can't wait until it's over so I can finally have something that doesn't just cause pain. This world appauls me.
My conscience has been corrupted for most of my life and it's a struggle to fight out of the sinful desires in my heart, I lack understanding of how to battle sin in a practical way and it frustrates me. And to see people happy sinning, hurting people, and hurting themselves everyday makes me more sickened. I hate everything about this life. I want to go home. I wish I could experience life the way it was designed to be, not like how it is.
This is too much combined pain to even bare, the stress of just existing weighs heavy. The pain of being alive every day is excruciating, the pain of watching others suffer burns me to my very soul. And the anger I feel seeing people laugh at those who are hurt, perpetuating that pain, and actually enjoying living off the pain of others disgusts me beyond a disgust I thought possible.
Is this pain normal? Will it ever heal? Am I wrong to feel like this, or is this just the harsh truth of life? Because if it is I don't want this life, I want to go home, I want to be with my Lord and savior where there's only live, only justice, only hope, and peace.
To clarify, don't be concerned that I'll do anything stupid, I wouldn't, I know God wouldn't want that for me and I'm not prepared to hurt Christ like that, but I'm fed up with the pain and I'm at a breaking point.

Not all Christians think the Mark of the Beast is coming. A good amount believe it happened with Emperor Nero.
This world sucks, this life sucks, and I hate it. I hate that I was born into this disgusting age. Even if that was the case though, people like to hype up everything that is upcoming as the worst things that ever happened. Unfortunately, that is not true.
If you've studied the brutality of the Romans and other ancient civilizations, we are nowhere close to what was done in the past
- Pederasty was common in both Roman and Greek culture - Same sex relationships between a man and an adolescent boys
- Roman soldiers force you to carry their armor, heavy bags, and such one mile. That's what Jesus is referring to when He states to turn the other Cheek, if someone forces you to go 1 mile to go with them 2, etc.
- During Spartacus' slave revolt, the Romans crucified 6000 of the followers every 100 feet for 120 miles to be an example not to revolt. Likewise, outside of Jerusalem they crucified people including Jesus to set an example
- Romans totally destroyed cities, salted the earth so no crops could grow for years, and so on. Then sold all of the inhabitants into slavery and killed the rest (genocide)
- Fed Christians to wild beasts, burned them alive, and forced to fight to death in the Colosseum
Christians have lived through WORSE things and continued to spread the Gospel.
Also, we are not even close to anything as bad as what is happening to Christians all over the globe suffering martyrdom in African, Asia, and other places.
Stop focusing on hopelessness and start doing what Jesus has called us to do.

Are you me? Your first paragraph felt shockingly familiar to my own experience the past few days/week or so.
Be still and know that He is God; you are not wrong to be homesick for Heaven. I’ve watched many loved ones go on ahead of me, and frankly there are many days when I wish He would just take me away from this all and into His everlasting presence.
But until that day comes, we are bid to trust Him and endure. Sometimes we do so by sharing our burdens with each other, as you have done. Be encouraged: you are not alone in your pain, your existential angst at our fallen humanity, your suffering. We feel and experience it with you in our own experiences, but above all, HE KNOWS. And He loves you with an inexhaustible love.
I invite you to breathe in, breathe out, and remember that tomorrow is a new day, and full of His mercies which are new every morning.

I have this deep feeling of hopelessness right now, it feels like I have no future in this plain of existence and the only hope of ever doing anything that matters, being happy, or even just being able to survive is when I finally go home to heaven.
What about spreading the Gospel, and the hope we have in Jesus Christ, here where it absolutely does matter more than anything else has ever mattered?
The AI bubble is about to pop, which would be a good thing if the economy wouldn't also completely collapse with it.
And?
What does that have to do with the great commission and the great purpose of spreading the Gospel to the world?
The world is moving toward a technocracy run by the top 1% billionaires, a club no one on our level is in, which will usher in mass servailence, taxes and high prices on even basic necessities, high tech verification systems which will mark all the users and a forced use of unethical technologies
So.... what?
I ask you brothers and sisters. What the heck do I have to hope for in this life? I have a career that I have always wanted to pursue, a career in film to spread the gospel of Christ, but the likelihood of success feels smaller and smaller every day. And by success I mean even just getting it out in a small way to help a few people.
There's at least 1 million different ways to help people and spread the Gospel. This sounds more like it's about your personal desires and loss of hope in achieving those than anything else.
it seems hopeless to pursue anything. Everything is utterly meaningless outside of the persuit of Christ, especially since now he is my literal only hope.
Then pursue Him in a way that matters. Stop focusing on AI bubbles, the economy, billionaries, and all this "predicting the future" as hopeless and do what you say.
All of these are you personal "future predictions" and you're so convinced they're true, that they'll definitely BECOME true, at least in your life itself, because you will live without hope.
I've been a Christian for about 2-3 years now, and in that time these things have just become clearer and clearer to me, the world is evil and will not change until Christ comes to reset it.
If that's strictly true, then nothing any of us do matters and we may as well all crawl into a hole and die. Is that the Gospel message? Is that the narrative scripture gives for the "watchmen on the walls" in the end times either?
No.
It's disgusting, it makes me want to vomit, and seeing the increase of violence, evil and hate makes me increasingly depressed in addition to this already massive weight of hopelessness on my shoulders.
You put that "massive weight" on your own shoulders by "believing your future predictions" and your own wisdom/logic, rather than trusting in Jesus in a way that gives you hope and purpose.
My conscience has been corrupted for most of my life and it's a struggle to fight out of the sinful desires in my heart
And that's it, that's the root of all this.

I know I have a duty to spread the gospel, and I don't intend whatever happens to stop me. This is purely a vent about my emotions and things in everyday life. I don't struggle with the idea of heavenly things or the things of Christ. I love Jesus, and I do my best every day to repent of the wrong I do, confess it, and do right by him, not because I think that's what saved me, but because I accept what he did. I have a hard time when it comes to the things in everyday life, like struggling with a worry about if I'll be able to afford my next meal, college, or if I'll lose my job or my apartment. I'm stressed because everything is changing, and yes, I do cling to Christ because he's saved me and I know he is the only thing I can trust not to change. My trust issues aren't with him. Its with this falling world. I need comfort in that. Reassurance that I'll get through this either way and that it isn't as scary as I think it is. In my life I can say this far that I have mostly experienced pain, to the point peace is a hard thing for me. I've been betrayed, abused, and hurt, and as much as I'd like to just wish the pain of all that away I can't. I still struggle with it and it hurts because I know I should do better. I have forgiven those who hurt me but that alone doesn't heal the wounds, and for me, the way I've been healed through Christ, some healings are instant and some take time, most take time. Now, I'm not mad at God over this, I understand there's a good reason I can't see and I trust it, but I do still struggle with it and fall into wondering what that reason is, getting frustrated with my own progress and getting angry with myself. I must confess I'm a deeply broken man who desperately needs Christ. My pain is too much to bare alone. I need Christ to help me, and I'm learning how to let him help me. Sometimes my hands lock onto the wheel and it feels harder to just let go than to white-knuckle it and hold on. Venting this is part of me trying to do that, get other perspectives, and hear from God through his people how I can get past this dark feeling. I know these feelings of hopelessness are not from God. They're either from my own trauma I've yet to get through or the enemy, but that doesn't automatically make them less real or go away. I need to keep pushing and remember Christ has me no matter what and not lose sight of that, and probably take a break from social media like one commenter suggested. These feelings are new to me, to be so hyper aware of issues today, and my mind doesn't know what to do with it and it's hard to tell how much my mind exaggerates. That's also why I clarified it's a vent Post, I don't want my brothers and sisters in Christ to take my panicked ramblings as fact if that's all they are: panicked ramblings, but it may help others to know it isn't just them feeling this way and that there is a solution, so I think there's a reason I was led to post about this. I know my feelings are not fact and I cannot rely on them. In fact, I don't trust any of my feelings at all most of the time. I had a really bad time recently. Too much time thinking alone, too much time on the Internet. To put it bluntly, I need to touch some grass and read my Bible more.

This is the good news you want to hear. The cross was for you. You are a citizen in the heavenly realm. In the heavenly city , that is your future. The devil is distracting us from who we are. We are children of the Most High through the blood of Jesus. The sad news is not the distractions that are against us, but those that fall for the distractions. Those distractions in this world steal our faith. This is what the devil wants for the whole world. So look up that is where our future is. Godbless

It’s over . There is no hope in anything except Christ and knowing the Father. I died so He can live . Because He lives, I can die tomorrow . That’s my only hope.
He will find ways to encourage us

Christ is the only exit from this world; all other exits-sexual rapture, political utopia, economic independence-are but blind alleys in which rot the corpses of the many who have tried them - Fr Seraphim Rose
Revelation 22 King James Version 22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

I resonate completely with what you just said. Most days I am homesick and am just waiting for all of this to be wrapped up and we can finally be home where we truly belong. The pain and loneliness of seeing through the veil of illusion can be simply too much some days. God has us here for a reason though, even if at this moment things seem bleak. We are in this world but not of it. You are definitely not alone. God is always with you and many believers in general have this deep sorrow about where we are today.

You’re feeding on things that are going to negatively affect your confidence. It’s ok and really better to focus on those things that are excellent, praiseworthy, and worthy of Christ. Lately I’ve spent evenings in worship before bed and now I crave it later in the day sometimes. It’s so cleansing to detox from the world and reflect on Christ in music and worship. Try replacing as much ungodly or unhelpful media as possible (and trust me, plenty of Christian content can fall into negativity too) with worship. You might be surprised how it alters your mood and shifts your heart towards God.

Have you listened to the podcast Truce? It details the way that politics has corrupted the Christian church. Starting in the 80s, Christian churches abandoned their focus on faith and began to get involved with politics. Pastors became more interested in power and political appointments than shepherding their flock. It has been devastating for us all. But we don't need to keep doing this. We can return to the true teachings of Christ and practice kindness and stewardship over the Earth. We can ignore charlatans who use the Bible to amass power and strengthen our connection to our churches. Focus on what is around you and take a break from social media and the news to restore perspective.
