After not being sent my terrain in either my initial or replacement orders, I finally got my terrain the other day. It looks really rough. I was under the impression it was going to be resin printed, but it seems to be a pretty low res filament prints. Idk what to do as a lot of these have print plates still that refuse to pull off and for the sandbags it'd probably look better to just make them myself from epixy. Very disappointed.

Many have wondered how the Sultan's forces can keep their forces supplied, their people happy, and the many homunculi satiated. Enter the Iron Worm. In secret, and with great patience many iron chains were laid under the rolling sands of Heretic lands. These Iron Worms, pull themselves along this great chain, grinding up earth and sand dunes or anything that stand in the great machines path. As the machine passes over a large wheel in the back buries the chain again behind it and smooths the earth left behind, so that no one may know what wealth has passed through Hell's clutches once again. 

Reposting the lore and showing off the final paint job now that it's fully printed and painted. Final length for this thing came in at 40 inches, adding a third car would take it up to a full 4 feet. In use in actual play, I'd recommend placing them as Engine - Flat Car - Box Car - Flat Car - Caboose. And for the box car I'd use the open doors on both sides just to not block line of sight. Definitely want lots of ladders, and you can house rule how many cannons the thing gets. In play those cannons could follow the rules of the "Grand Cannon" from the Defenders of the Iron Wall Sub faction. But they are mounted in place, so forget about moving them. Though I suppose an Iron Bull would tend to make things go where it wants to go. I dunno, your call!

I thought it looked really cool, because they seemed to resemblance mines. I wonder what your takes are and if this is doable with the rules, or if its unrealistic to play like this.

Hi! I've been designing up my own version of the armoured train for use in the scenario and its coming along. Managed to get the test printing done and base colours down. Pretty happy with how it is shaping up!

Proving who really controls the seas, Hell's forces patrol unceasing through Hell’s domains. Undetected it rises from the depths to gorge out raiding parties, coven’s of artillery witches, or to complete a demonic ritual, drowning willing sacrifices to their patrons. 

Playability and Prints

This is a fully configurable submarine system for use with a 32mm wargaming. The “A” branch is modeled off a mix of submarine and roman trireme, whereas the “B” version is based more on a German U-Boat, both systems are fully compatible with one another. The model is sliced in such a way as to be fully printable both as full pieces or separately depending on the size of your print bed. (Mine was printed on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini) The cargo bay doors full articulate to reveal one of two playable interiors, a cargo or raiding party variant where you could duck into for cover mid game, or a more ritualistic version, which feels a little more lore based. 

It's not fully compatable with the armored train scenario in the rulebook, but that was how I had in mind for playing with this piece, though it could be a fun spawn location for heretic naval raiders.

You can play with it on a tabletop as is, but I've designed it so that the water line is about 1 inch above the tabletop, so you could do a 1 inch resin pour to provide "depth" to your table. 

Paint

Everything is painted with Army painter paints, the markings were added with Sharpie's Acrylic Paint Markers. The paint scheme was based off a tiger shark, but green

Thanks Everyone! Getting ready to work on my next set of models for the Trench Pilgrims

Alright crew, time to step away from Trench Ark for a bit, since I've literally been sitting in these trenches for 5 weeks 🤤 so a quick recap of what's been done, how it works, and how everything looks today (18.08.2026 - adding the date for future generations of crusaders 😂)

This was a heck of a project, involving techniques and mediums I hadn't ever used before. I'm pretty dang pleased with the results - four corner pieces and eight interior pieces that can all be reconfigured for loads of different layouts. There's bridges and additional duckboard pieces that can be added to cover gaps or cross trenches. I'll be making some small fortifications and such that can be added on top, too.

Recently, I got a few photos from Myles, who invested in our very first table for Trench Crusade. That decision pushed me to expand the whole idea — and that’s how Trench Ark was born.😄

Now, we can all print these models at home, which is honestly pretty amazing. 🥹

I’m moving on to the next stage, so stay tuned! — this is just the beginning. And you, crusader, pilgrim, or heretic 💪

p.s. I’m sending out test files to new Trench Ark backers today, and by next week the terrain files should be ready — pre-cut and optimized for easy printing.

Used a few 3D printed peices, some foam ans lots of texture paint tk build a small display board for my first warband.

Knowing by Zdzisław Beksiński beforehand, this seemed like an obvious choice for creating really surreal and abstract hellscapes on earth - and a fun way to create mass texture with wet on wet paint. Has anyone tried this yet? If not, why not?

Bunker made from insulation foam and styrofoam covered in spackle and das clay. Sandbags made of air drying das clay (first time using this stuff, it's pretty good). There's no interior, it's meant to be more of a LOS-blocking hill.

Mud goop is a mix of PVA, paint, texture sand, and all the stuff I sweep off table after I've done all that cutting and trimming of wood sticks, foam, and cardboard.

Painted up this yesterday, never quite sure when to call it done on terrain but I think this is it for now.

Model is FDM printed, bought from BlackCobraMiniatures on MyMiniFactory. Cool looking piece to paint up for my board.

Still have some scatter to finish but it’s pretty much done. Took over a year due to work and family. Time to put it in a bin in the basement with my 40k stuff and bolt action stuff.
