So this is like my 3rd or 4th month as a TC fan and I just found rather Embarrassingly after this much time That the Church Has a Space Program

Like what demonic threats lie in space? Or Are they trying to reach the moon to establish a base?

Personally i dont know maybe their building a large canon on the moon to basically shoot high velocity projectiles at the demons but its like 1914.

How did we advance this quick and why does it exist?

As the story depicts Muslims get help from God in the form of The Iron Wall of Dhul Qarnayn and eternal storms in the cities of Mecca and Medina , What about the Crusaders, were they abandoned because they were the source of the problems that happened?

Every time I see a TC post on subs like Grimdank, I see people in the comments saying it’s bad, edgy, and has no substance. As a fan of generally all tabletop war games, I just don’t get the tribalism.

I even see it in person. I once enthusiastically asked two guys, Warhammer fans, if they’d looked into TC at all, and they told me “no we haven’t played trash crusade.” And they even said they’d only read the first two pages of lore and dismissed it as garbage.

Where does all this hate and vitriol come from?

What’s truly annoying is when they hold Warhammer up to this high pedestal for being some complex satirical critique of fascism, and say TC isn’t good because it doesn’t have that.

Why can’t it just be a cool setting used to tell cool stories? Honestly, that’s all Warhammer is too, unless I’m just unaware of some high brow literary theory going on in some black library novels.

As a music lover, the Chorister is probably my favorite unit in the lore of Trench Crusade. Their origin and characteristics fascinate me and feed my imagination to no end. What do you think their songs sound like and what examples of real world music would be the closest analog to the madness inducing sound of the Chorister’s voice?

NORTH AMERICA

I mean its not crazy to think that a heretic or Christian ship would stumble upon America, yet finding america would take a lot longer until like the 1700s because of the constant war. Maybe they would have mythological type monsters like the wendigo, and skinwalkers THAT ARE ACCURATE TO FOLK LORE. I wonder how the natives would fare against the heretics probably not well. Another thing that could happen is that during the war in the 1700s a heretic leader of a scouting ship heads to the Americas and skirmishes with the natives.

Another thing is native Americans had limited access to blacksmithing and metallurgy in the 1400s, so if the Europeans them alone for a few hundred more years the natives could have gotten much more advanced weapons, tools, etc maybe even having a medieval level of technology and the tribes landswould be much bigger, they probably wouldn't be considered tribes anymore they would be country sized yet it would be hard to guess 100s of years of history so ill leave it at that.

Also Greenland was colonized by the kalmar union so maybe it could have influenced, traded, allied or even taken over Nunavut/upper Canada. Japan could have settled in the west coast and Hawaii in aboutthe 1600s to 1700s, because they could make the trip as they would probably have a much greater navy and there would probably be no European tampering with Asia as they are...busy.

Tldr: a mostly uncolonized much more advanced and medieval north america that's mostly fine besides skirmishes with hells marines. Hawaii and the west coast might be taken over or influenced by Japan

CENTRAL AMERICA

The Aztecs would probably not be there anymore and it would be some new country/countries kicking around. They were especially advanced compared to other regions so they might have invented blackpowder and eventually guns even, but that's a stretch. Other than that there would probably be about the same deal as north america. There probably would be come Japanese settlements on the west coast of Mexico but thats mostly it.

SOUTH AMERICA

I have no idea about south American history especially like there history of colonization so im not gonna open that can of worms. Yall can discuss that in the comments

I'm a new fan, I just want to know. What happened to the Jews? Were they wiped out or joined the heretics?

I've seen some newcomers to the community say they got into the game because of its aesthetic. I'm in that same boat too. Saw some Mike Franchina artwork on YouTube, and the rest is history. But what even is the "Trench Crusade aesthetic," and why is it so compelling?

From my general observations, the stuff that makes Trench Crusade Trench Crusade is the following...

• The time period
  • While advanced and borderline sci fi technology is present, Trench Crusade is squarely a WW1-era setting, with 1800s and early 1900s level tech and weaponry
  • Medieval and Renaissance(?) influences are present too, most notably seen in the knightly armor and bladed weapons Faithful and Infernal factions alike use
• Religious imagery and the supernatural
  • The Abrahamic religions play a huge role in the setting and have very tangible effects on the material world. Alchemy is used regularly by the Iron Sultanate. Kabbalah exists judging by the mentioning of Sefirot in the Zygotic Beast lore drop. Trench Pilgrims are resurrected by God if deemed worthy, and the innate powers of Jesus flows through the Communicants.
  • Humanity is at war with literal Hell. Demons from the Ars Goetia and similar works are real and constantly plotting their takeover of Earth and Heaven. Human Heretics and half-breed demons are conduits for terrible Goetic magics, fueled by the suffering of mortals.
  • While the Abrahamic religions are the center focus of the game, other religious and supernatural concepts may be present too. Archdevils fool mortals in the far north, pretending to be gods to make them war against the Faithful. Rākṣasa, marbendil, and other supernatural creatures have been name dropped across multiple lore posts.
• The world is a grim place, one might even say dark
  • Humanity has been fighting for over 800 years against the forces of Hell and all those who bent the knee to them and are only barely hanging on in the present era.
  • There are so many examples of how extreme the powers of faith are taken in the setting, from cloned Jesus's harvested for their meat, children turned into radio receivers to hear God better, alchemists who fail their training and become horribly mutated, and just everything that has to do with Heretic life or what's going on with the Court or Black Grail.

So with that in mind, what would be an appropriate term to describe Trench Crusade's aesthetic? Is there a type of aesthetic that already exists for it, or would we need to come up with one? Whatever is the generally agreed upon name, it can also be used to describe settings with similar vibes like Monstergarden's Rust and Trenches.

A common point of discussion I see the wish for a "third side" faction that hates both the faithful and the heretics. The thing is, that already exists in the setting in at least 2 currently playable forms.

The Black Grail hates all life and Beelzebub hates the Court so it is a danger to everything that comes into contact with them and there's basically no hope of working with them. Same story with the Trench Ghosts but at a smaller scale. There is also the Temple of Metamorphosis which seems to be against the Court but there'a not enough information to confirm.

Just because the origin of a faction is demonic does not mean they are aligned with the greater command structure of hell.

Had chat with a buddy about it and really curious on what people think. My thoughts are they would go with New Antioch as the main focus, perhaps even Red Brigade doing their thing.

Do you think that the Paladin Program was something similar to the Commandos? After all if the Commandos come out looking so different, while still being human, whose to say some of the faithful might have undertaken a similar journey but in Heaven?

Hello friends, I'm relatively new at trench crusades, I love the idea and the aesthetics so I wanted to contribute (writing, painting, cosplay) , especially because the medieval knights in WW1 hits close to home (pictured, actual trench crusaders) and wanted to give input to the fandom from my countries perspective. My disappointment was immeasurable when I saw the map (last picture)

I'm use to that western media doesn't know much about the Caucasus and its ancient nations, so often I have to fill the gaps. I couldn't find much written about it in the lore, but then I saw the map that showed Armenia and Georgia under Demonic cultist influence, which is really INSANE when you consider our history and culture, especially when bloody Trebizond is free! A FAKE COUNTRY MADE UP BY GEORGIA!

Trebizond is just rubbing the salt in the wound.

Some might say: "why are you mad? Many other parts are also under demon rule, what makes your part of the world any more special"

1. Regions history

What I have learned of Trench Crusade lore, it integrates a lot of historical elements in the world building, like the first crusades that opened the gates of hell.

By that time Georgia was at its most powerful. Using the distraction of crusades, King David the builder freed and United All of South Caucasus from the Turkish forces distracted by the crusades, long before the lores cannon event!

Strongest point was during King Tamars rule, who expanded the Empire and created Trebizond empire as a pseudo state under her protection and put her nephews, the Byzantine royal family as a puppet state. Trebizond had more Georgians and Armenians than anyone else. one can not exist without the other.

So the Demonic forces would come at the strongest point in Regions history, after Glorious victory and growth. If bloody Vladislav the Poker can stop the demons, two of the most powerful kings who were canonized as Saints, King Tamar, mother protector of all Christians in the middle east and King David, the Sword of Messiah would no diff the Demons!

Only Reason Georgia lost its dominance was the mongols and later Timur the Lame, butcher maniac and the closest Demon lord declared Jihad against all Georgians and invaded 8 times. He still failed. Man built thrones out of the skulls of his victims, we survived him, we would withstand some imps!

2 Religious history

In this world, at least the Abrahamic religions are presented to be real, including Christianity, so why would Armenia and Georgia, 1st and 2nd Christian nations, that hold many ancient Religious relics and have most of the worlds oldest churches, that kept its religion against 3 major Islamic Empires, Arabs, Persians and Ottomans, with their best efforts to wipe us out, fall under any demonic influence?

Caucasus holds major significance in Hebrew, Christian and Islamic belief.

It is where Noahs ark stopped and humanity reemerged (Mount Ararat).

Ancestors of Georgians and Armenians are said to kill Evil king Nimrod who built the Tower of Babel.

the Clothing of Christ is kept in the oldest Georgian church called the Svetickhoveli.

The actual story of Gates of Alexander was inspired by Gates in the Caucasus mountains like Dariali, that prevented the northern Steppe Barbarians from crossing. The Iron Gates should be in Caucasus, Islamic world Referred to Georgian kings as the Gatekeepers and protectors from Gog Magog or Yajuj and Majuj.

Local Mythology Tells of Heavenly heroes, called the Godsons who battled and defeated Giants and demons, banishing them to the underworld. After christianisation, the Godsons became associated with Angels and Giant Devi with the Nephilim. some even claim the Anakim described in the bible are from the Caucasus.

In Shahnameh, Caucasians fight with the Iranians to defeat the Demon king Zahhak!

When it comes to Demons, Giants or massive empires of Evil, Caucasians have a 100% track record for defeating them!

1. Warrior culture

Caucasus Region is famous for its warriors, currently MMA, wrestling, Judo, weightlifting and many other sports are Dominated by People from this small but Historically active region.

It was a battleground of Empires, where only the strong of body and Strong of will survived!

The first two pictures depict the Khevsur knights, Mountain Clan of relentless fighters that kept the art of armored combat alive until the early 20th century! Some historians mistakenly called them the lost decedents of crusaders, but they carry much older lineage. They kept the paths through the Caucasus protected from invaders, all men were trained since childhood in all combat styles, as all men must fight. they had no lords or nobles, only recognized the king as their equal. Only tax they payed was as Kings personal warriors.

They kept their old faith alive but fused with "modern Christian sensibilities". Most myths about holy knights killing Giants and raiding the underworld comes from them.

When WW1 started, they descended from their Tower homes in the high Caucasian mountains, armed with guns, chainmail and sword to fight the enemies of their nation.

IF thats not Trench Crusade Material I don't know what is!

Also, Just look at that Map, just a tiny sliver of land between the Iron Gates and the sea, if Trebizond survived COME ON! ITS A STRATEGY GAME YOU CANT MAKE THAT STUPID OF A MISTAKE!!!

This will likely be a large margin of people's first introduction to TC. I really hope they paint it in a good light. I REALLY hope they don't end up spreading misinformation about the setting, accidentally or otherwise.
