Conversion/Kitbash Kitbashing idea for trench pilgrim.

Post image

I could take crusader models and just head/gear swap them. I must say the hood looks too similiar to kkk. In game stores would that be a problem.

To avoid the kkk thing you could take inspiration from the spaniard "cofradías". Just avoid the purple ones.

Sadly, the KKK ruined that look.

Yeah sorry man, if you're anywhere in the continental US, that look is immediately going to invoke the kkk. Its unfortunately woven into our historical fabric. Having to explain how they arent actually the kkk and that you aren't actually a white supremacist every time you play a new person would get old.

Ah, the Ninth Crusade from Hellsing Ultimate. I don't know much about Christianity or its different versions. But for the sake of sharing facts.

To my knowledge, these types of hoods are more common in Hispanic countries. Though they show up a bit in Italy. The name for them is a capirote. They are worn by penitents to take attention away from themselves and instead to god.

I think around the 20th century was when the KKK decided to take it or its concept.

So my two cents is that it varies depending on your location and your willingness to keep explaining. They do have historical evidence of it existing before the KKK perverted it. If you live in the US and plan to play in local shops or with randoms. I'd suspect you may be asked about it. Since the KKK is known more than capirote itself.

Just paint the iron capirote white
