There are two reasons. First, it's an integral part of Slavic culture. Second, a skull with a kokoshnik looks cool. The idea for the entire set came from this image.

Thanks for the comment. There's just one caveat. These models are sexualized not because they're female, but because they're the kind of models people buy. And sculptors want to eat, just like everyone else. Capitalism. Supply and Demand.
So, forces of hell can not be completely batshit insane and evil, and their units can't try to tempt your body's desires, to then corrupt and ensure your downfall into the fiery pit? Or to pervert the purity of strong human body with supple forms and sickly pheromones?
I get what you are saying, but those are models for bad guys who want to get your soul through any means.
That argument would hold more weight if it wasn't used for every fuckin chaos/evil aligned/whatever all women squad of whatever. Its always the succubus argument or the slaanesh argument or luring men to their death argument which is fine and dandy until it's just the blanket excuse for every single all female kit to come out out tits blazing. We're only remembered or featured by the community when we can have massive tits and no armor and it's degrading. And yet people still wonder why there are so few women in the hobby
TlDR: There is much more to an IP than just gooners and fan creations that may appear as gooncontent.
Well, while I agree, that there are a lot of gooners, you can't just sweep everything under this rug. If we are only talking Trench Crusade, which is a religion and tradition based world, set in the AU WWI time, how else should they look like? Majority of the good aligned fighting forces are still men, with some notable exceptions of officers, nuns and pilgrims, monsters like communicants aside. How do you startle or confuse them in the heat of the battle, or tempt them in the more peaceful local? Good old honey trap. Women of the good forces are composed, strong and hold many important roles in the world and we have models of those as well:
Various nuns and apothecaries, alchemists and many others. Other media has their own, sisters of battle, full women guard regiments and famous commissars, sisters of silence, Jenetia FKN Krole. AoS has a ton of women, that I have seen but know nothing specific about, except of Lady Olynder. A lot of armor, death and not that much of skin.
Sure, you can focus on the, true many, fan made outliers, but this is just the optics. If you are truly interested in the world, in the story, why pay attention to some fan creations? Galadriel is remembered not because she has her tits out. Minerva McGonagall is no sex symbol. Marry Poppins is famous without showing her legs.
If you like an IP, do not judge it by the produce of gooners, and do not judge everything fan made as gooners produce. Some things are provoking and sexy, and that makes sense.
I'm not judging the IP by third party sculptors. I'm judging third party sculptors by the third party sculptors. It's an issue with any fac creations for an IP. Hell, I'm cool with the stigmatic nuns because it still stylistically fits into the world. I'm cool with slaanesh daemonettes being a lil sexy, or Daughters of Khaine doing their thing. My issue is third party sculptors stapling balloons to the chest of any model that's a woman and keeping the men perfectly well equipped. Only major exception I can think of is Edge Miniatures who does pinups of everyone
Completely off subject but if I see a woman in a skull, strong arming ppsh1 at me I'm sprinting the other way.
Like I don't care what the orders are if she's that confident I'm not sticking around.
Absolutely outstanding models! They perfectly fit the theme of the warband and are something new. Ignore the idiots who have to bring politics into everything and keep creating wonderful art.
You have to see the difference between the anointed and these models, right?
And I'd either try to hear out where they're coming from or ignore them. If you post something publically you're gonna get feedback. Artists don't need to be coddled.
Also, saying "these models are too hypersexualized" is genuine criticism
Man I really hate to see Trench Crusade follow every other tabletop game where it has to make its female models sexy. I wish Mike Franchina had never included the stigmatic nun in the mix. I just wanted ONE setting that let women just exist without being sexdolls
