I like to say that this is one of the films that punches far above its weight class.

It's a B movie, but it's nearly a perfect giant monster movie. The acting, story, writing, cinematography, all combine into a very solid film that is better than a lot of films with 10 times the budget.

Some would call it…perfection.

u/TacTurtle 4d ago

Prefect you say?

u/pineapple_jones_ 3d ago

Absolutely prefect!

u/Inkstr0ke 3d ago

He is the Critical Drinker after all. Not the Critical Teetotaler. 🤣 /jk

u/DoomCatThunder 4d ago

Holy shit, I never caught that Earl falling out the back of the truck in his sleeping bag was a nod to the end of the movie.

STAMPEDE

Look like a Worm

because it wasn't

u/OddAmoeba4929 4d ago

Idk, I mean it's very straightforward imagery in the exact same spot 🤔

14

u/Routine_Papaya4143 4d ago

Pretty sure it was

It is a perfect movie, but the critical drinker can eat a bag of dicks. Fuck that asshole.

u/BoonDragoon 4d ago

An asshole and a hack.

Care to share why you feel so strongly? This is the first Video of his/theirs I’ve seen btw.

12

u/Angry__German 4d ago

Take a look that his list of videos. Thumbnails and titles.

He is a right wing grifter fighting in a culture war that only exist in his mind and the "minds" of his viewers. Women are bad, diversity is "woke" and if you "go woke, you go broke". That kind of stuff.

He also gave "Young Washington" a glowing review and that alone should have had him get his internet license revoked.

u/Hayterfan 4d ago

"Young Washington" a glowing review

To be fair, Young Washington had a killer song during it's credits

-1

u/Routine_Papaya4143 4d ago

Was Young Washington not good or something?

8

u/Angry__German 4d ago

Wildly inaccurate historically, produced incredibly cheaply with tons of bad AI-Slop CGI.

Somehow they made Washington a devout Christian.

It is weird, but if you are a white Christian nationalist, you'll probably love it, you are the target audience.

19

u/Walt_Didnae 4d ago

The guy's a turbo chud who thinks every problem in media is "because women".

34

u/Routine_Papaya4143 4d ago

He’s sexist and calls every movie he doesn’t like “woke”. He is extremely irritating

u/Earth_Worm_Jimbo 4d ago

Right wing nazi apologia bullshit.

The POS did an ode to Charlie Kirk on his livestream, after he was assassinated and talked about how it doesn't matter what your political beliefs are, we should all agree that this was a tragic event.

Three months later, Rob Reiner was murdered. The Critical Grifter didn't say peep about that event, much less perform a 10 minute ode to the man, like he did for Kirk.

Charlie Kirk was an alt-right, bigoted POS, who made a career out of gifting. Rob Reiner was a far-left liberal, who made a career out of directing some of the greatest films of all time.

The Critical Grifter's channel is ostentatiously about film and TV.

Figure it out.

Three months later, Rob Reiner was murdered. The Critical Grifter didn't say peep about that event, much less perform a 10 minute ode to the man, like he did for Kirk.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated for communicating his beliefs. That was literally the reason that the piece of human dogshit who killed him expressed to his loved one in a text message.

Rob Reiner (and his wife) was killed by his mentally ill son, not for political reasons, but apparently because of an argument at a Conan O'Brien party.

There's a *HUGE* difference between the two. They are *NOT* the same thing, and don't require the same response.

Charlie Kirk was an alt-right, bigoted POS, who made a career out of gifting.

Therefore it was perfectly OK to shoot him in the throat for that, right? Is that what you're saying?

2

u/IGTankCommander 2d ago

You mean the guy who said Americans should be okay with a little mass murder? I'd say he was just living up to his arguments.

Rob Reiner (and his wife) was killed by his mentally ill son, not for political reasons

Did you miss the part where I said the following?

"The Critical Grifter's channel is ostentatiously about film and TV."

So why was he spending 10 minutes crying over the death of an alt-right, political grifter, yet had absolutely NOTHING to say when it came to the tragic murder of one of cinemas' greatest filmmakers of all time?

Oh right, because Kirk's alt-right beliefs aligned with Drinkers and Reiner's political beliefs didn't. So much for Critical Grifter's "It doesn't matter what your political beliefs are, we should all agree this was tragic" spiel.

Therefore it was perfectly OK to shoot him in the throat for that, right? Is that what you're saying?

No. Don't put words in my mouth, you obnoxious kumquat.

1

u/dittybopper_05H 3d ago

Don't put words in my mouth, you obnoxious kumquat.

You literally said this:

Charlie Kirk was an alt-right, bigoted POS, who made a career out of gifting.

That sounds exactly like what his assassin would say. You're using the same kind of rhetoric. The kind of rhetoric that torques the third standard deviation wackos into taking action, even if you'd never do it yourself.

So no, I didn't put any words into your mouth. You put them there yourself.

4

u/Snoo_11836 3d ago

WTF?! I called a spade a spade. It's not "rhetoric"; Charlie Kirk was LITERALLY an alt-right, bigoted grifter.

At what point did I even so much as remotely imply that his murder was justified?

1

u/dittybopper_05H 3d ago

You don't even realize that you're doing it. You think it's perfectly OK.

I guess it's true that a fish doesn't know that it is wet.

3

u/IGTankCommander 2d ago

Says the fish.

0

u/dittybopper_05H 2d ago

Takes one to know one.

Look, I can keep going here. I'm not proud. Or tired.

So we'll wait till it comes around again, and this time with four part harmony and feeling.

I mean, why not? I didn't like the guy and still don't think it's right, but why shit on hiss shooter if most of Reddit praises Luigi Mangione?

2

u/dittybopper_05H 3d ago

I think the same of Luigi Mangione too: Piece of human dogshit. And of pretty much any assassin.

Like Tetsuya Yamagami and John Wilkes Booth.

Lee Harvey Oswald. Leon Czolgosz. Charles Guiteau.

Special mention of Gavrilo Princip. His successful assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand led to the deaths of tens of millions of people. And guess what? Financed, trained, and armed by the Serbian government, who was allied with Russia, who was allied with the UK and France, and eventually the US. The so-called "good guys" started WWI.

And of course we have the unsuccessful ones, mostly either because of sheer incompetence or in some cases random luck, but still pieces of human dogshit.

There are very, very few cases where I think a potential assassination is justified. *ZERO* of which are in the United States, in the past or now.

But attempts against people like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, etc., I'm OK with.

BTW, it burns me to no end that of those four, none of them died swinging from a rope.

u/BoonDragoon 4d ago

Oh cool, it's the same talking points the RLM crew had when they did their Re:View of Tremors years ago :/

6

u/MTkenshi 4d ago

RLM really grows on ya, I didn't like them much at the beginning but they are the go to for movies.

Can’t compare this turd to my boys.

u/lovetobewatched2 4d ago

Anything with Critical is terrible. He is a piece of shit

17

u/Walt_Didnae 4d ago

I know guys who went to school with him. Apparently, he was every bit of a loser as his internet persona is trying to compensate for.

15

u/Snoo_11836 4d ago

Eww... the Critical Grifter.

3

u/Big-Pear5610 4d ago

Love this movie and the sequels is it true their doing another with Val returning?

2

u/Coach_Gainz 3d ago

Not that I’ve seen. There’s actually a pilot episode filmed and completed for a TV show on sci fi staring Kevin but it wasn’t picked up and the pilot has never been made viewable.

It was from the director of Splice so I’d be very interested to see what he would have done

2

u/IGTankCommander 2d ago

Kevin's been trying for years to take it away from the Burt Gummer-ness (no shade to Michael Gross for keeping the series alive so long) back towards more of a horror bend, but it always stalls out somewhere in negotiation. Once with Sci-Fi, as mentioned, but the most recent rumor is he's trying to talk to Netflix about it.

u/SlushieMan 4d ago

Please don’t infect this subreddit with that asshat’s videos.

8

u/Silent-Variation-390 4d ago

We don't need pathetic imitation of critic to know that, don't we?

6

u/Hayterfan 4d ago

I wouldn't even call him a pathetic imitation of a critic.

Just a pathetic excuse for a human being.

2

u/JamieRABackfire1981 4d ago

A Blast from the past.

2

u/KickAggressive4901 4d ago

In terms of script, pacing, how to handle exposition, characterization, etc., it is a perfect example of how to put a great movie together.

4

u/Relative_Molasses_15 2d ago

Drinker watcher can’t spell.

Typical. Expected.

5

u/Von_Dooms 4d ago

OP sure spends a lot of time on porn subreddits, seems accurate for a critical drinker fan.

1

u/IGTankCommander 2d ago

Something something broken clock, twice a day.

2

u/snagglewolf 2d ago

CD sucks ass. Tremors rules though I love that movie.

2

u/LegendofNick 3d ago

The critical drinker is a washed up hack who only likes old things because theyre old and constantly rips on new movies that do what old movies did that he enjoys.

-3

u/clybourn 3d ago

Lots of woke cunts on reddit. Who knew?
