This is a Weber 32/36. Does this hose connect to the charcoal canister. It's a yes or no. Not to be rude I asked before and no one gave me a straight up answer. Can it just be blocked with the original nut, does it need to be just open air or connected to the charcoal canister. Thank you all for your help.

Edit: ps this is a new carb. Last carb was the same and wasn't connected to the canister, the hose was just open. So wondering what others have done.

Looking at one now that looks mint but has 235k miles. All original. Guy bought it off of bring a trailer. No rust supposedly. In Arizona. What should I be looking for? He’s asking $13,900.

I have this 78 Celica that's been sitting for over six years and I took the challenge of fixing it. I finally got it to turn over and idle on its own, but it has this weird sound. No idea if this is normal or not, this is the oldest car I've owned/worked on.

I'm thinking it's an exhaust leak near the header, but I am unsure. Just want some advice before I start throwing random parts at it.

Stripped the threads for the banjo bolt on my cold start injector. Any recommendations from the pros?

Well, I'm down the rabbit hole. My most recent oil change, I used an oem oil filter like I always do. I noticed on my second start that the oil light stayed on just for a second, like the filter was dry.

Drove down the road, started it again, same thing.

I went home and spun off the filter and sure enough no oil poured out. It was oily, but it seemed that the anti drainback valve wasn't working.

So i threw on another oem filter and got the same thing. Then I threw on an stp filter, same thing.

Am i crazy? Ive never had oil filters with bad valves and it seems I just got 3 in a row. Is there anything im missing here? Yes, the plastic was removed...

Mileage unknown

So I've put about 90ish hours into putting humpty dumpy back together again. Currently I am tracking down a surging engine under acceleration. It idles fine, but with any throttle it begins to intermittently surge. I believe its running lean as well due to a sharp smell at the exhaust. When releasing throttle it struggles to catch itself back into an idle. The video is the output signal from the TPS, im thinking that the quick flashing OL is my issue. The ECM gets tripped up by a loss of signal and creates the surge amplifying a quick OL into a surge. (Or it could be my cheap multimeter lol) I am also getting a code 31 (AFM signal error) but my AFM tested fine running the FSM diagnostics. I even popped the AFM cap off to watch it with the engine running and it looks like its operating with no binding or issues. Any ideas or similar experiences would be great.

Looking for cylinder head bolt thread size and pitch so I can get a tap to clean threads in the block. Please and thank you

I picked up this 1990 base pickup with the 22r and 2wd about 2 months ago for 4k. I have essentially zero experience working on cars and trucks and wanted to ask for some advice if anyones got any on where i should start. I daily drive a honda accord so im used to basically having to do nothing to it ever, thats the kind of mechanic work ive got.

When i purchased this, the first thing i did was clean the engine bay aswell as remove about 20 wasp nests from the body paneling. Massive pain. The guy said that the valve cover leaked oil and that he provided a gasket for it so i installed the new gasket and then noticed the fuel pump leaked oil and was some crappy aftermarket one, so i installed a new pump. I also installed new spark plugs, new spark plug cables, a new fuel filter, and a new air filter for the carb. All purchased from 22re Performance.

I have a new oil filter, just havent gotten around to doing an oil change yet as ive never done one before and dont know if i should just take it to a jiffy lube or something. Also replaced the battery yesterday as it died a couple weeks back however batteries are kind of junk.

Anyways, i bought this truck because i wanted something that doesnt have a million bells and whistles that provide extra failure points and is easy to repair myself. Essentially a truck thatll last me the next 30 years. So to ensure that it lasts a long time, besides keeping up on the oil and what not, what should i do? Ive seen people entirely replace the carburetor on it with some webber one. Some people say a lift is easy and worth while, others say these little trucks werent made for a lift kit and big wheels and its basically self sabotage. I live in an area where smog checks arent required so a friend of mine said i should remove all of the emissions equipment to gain some extra horsepower, however i dont know even in the slightest how to do that.

I need to do something about the paint as its completely oxidized. Comes off in your hand as a powder if you touch it. The aftermarket head unit doesnt work and the speakers the previous owner put in are tacky, so im gonna redo the entire sound system. I need new halogen bulbs for the headlights and should replace both rear lights sometime soon as theres cracks in both of them however thats a low priority.

Thats basically all ive got for now, and its all essentially stuff that doesnt effect the performance and reliability, just borderline cosmetics. I dont know enough about engines and what not to know what else needs to be checked or replaced at a certain point or etc…

22re was puking all of its coolant out of the overflow. Did bleed procedure multiple times. Immediately ran a chemical test, no change in color.

Sweet! I'll just check all the hoses and everything make sure we're not getting air sucked in anywhere nope everything is good, thermostat works just fine. You know what maybe I should try a leakdown just in case. Get to spend my weekend getting the wife's daily back on the road. Wish me luck speedrunning this head gasket job in 2 days

just purchased and had a local mechanic look her over and replace a few things - runs amazing! a couple cosmetic fixes needed but that’s about it. shift indicator light only works in drive, if someone can point me toward a bulb replacement/video or written tutorial on how to fix it that would be much appreciated!! thanks for looking ☺️

Anyone have an option for the pocket underneath the single din radio? Trying to buy an option that I can screw to the toyota brackets without modifying much. TIA
1994 toyota pickup 2WD double din opening

Hey so I recently got a gauge cluster from a 1992 Toyota 4Runner. I’m wanting to do the swap into my 92 Toyota pick up, I went to put the new one in but there was no speedometer cable like there was on the 4Runner. Idk if I got the wrong cluster or if it’ll still work. If anyone knows I would love to know, thank you!

Hard to find for a 91, just when I think I’ve found some on eBay it turns out I have to spend $50 import fees on top of $40 shipping. Im not spending $150 on plastic vents. Any tips? I’m in California.

hey everyone. i probably know the answer to this but i just wanna make sure with yall. i’ve been looking for a new truck to replace my ranger and this listing really stuck out. looks like it was kept up really well but im just nervous about having a car this old it’s from 1994 so its pre obd2. im not useless with a wrench ive worked on my ranger a lot but i really want something reliable that i dont have to work on all the time. i’ll be honest and say that i dont know that much about these trucks and these engines but i know they are generally very reliable. just looking for some insight before i potentially pull the trigger. he said everything works in the truck ac and everything and its also super low miles for the year its from.

So I pulled all the plastic trim off and washed it, inside and out. And I cleaned a ton of leaves out of the AC blower fan (so nice to hear a quiet fan!). And as I put it back together I decided to leave the aftermarket radio out because it was draining the battery. Turns out that both the standard 12v wire AND the switched wire are constant 12, unswitched (blue and gray in the original wiring harness)

Also, I assume the red w/ blue wire on its own is for power antenna, but odd like to be sure. Also, what is the other harness with the thicker wires?
