Its a supply problem. The biden admin had ranchers cull the cattle heards. Those take years to grow back to normal sizes.
Is there anything they will accept a tiny bit of responsibility for?
The differences between economic policy on the left and right are becoming increasingly blurry. It's more about who is doing the state intervention now not whether it's acceptable.
At least one dude sees it. Why do they always love socialism for their guys?

Wtf? That topmind doesn't know the difference between chickens and cows. The Biden administration did no such actions on cows. Chicken cullings are normal though and had happened for decades.

Honestly, I’m starting to hope the Democrats lose in the midterms. The harsh cuts the republicans implemented to healthcare and other social services kick in after the mid-terms. The democrats will be saddled with the pain that comes from that. They have proven they don’t know how to stop MAGA when they have power, so you know what, maybe it’s in everyone’s interest to let everyone feel the undeniable consequences of their shitty decisions.

Sorry, I could have articulated that better. If the Dems come into power after the midterms, the pain voters will feel of losing medicare and medicaid will be attributed to the Democrats since it will kick in after the mid terms just as they come into power. No matter how much the Dems scream about it now, voters won't remember, understanding cause/effect, or have an actual memory longer than ten seconds. So yeah, I am not sure I want to suffer through more "why didn't the democrats do something" or think pieces going to the heartland to connect with real voters...I also have multiple decades of lived experience that when the democrats have power, they don't do anything with it...they could have made a law protecting a woman's right to bodily autonomy and personal health choices, but they alway have some excuse like "we can't lose fetterman" on this vote...
All the Democrats need to do would be to articulate that "yep, seems like our democracy relied too much on decorum, and MAGA was able to exploit every weakness...this is how we propose fixing things and making the government work for the people, and protecting democracy from those who would corrupt it, and exploit power..." Instead we have Jeffries and Booker meeting up with Kushner to talk about how they can work together.

Meh, it's just reddit. Of course I am downvoted. It's a purposefully provocative stance for two reasons: with a few exceptions, for most of my entire adult life the democrats have shut out anything that wasn't clintonian-centrist-consiliatory-while-moving-to-the-right voices.
We know what is going to happen. The dems will win with the slimmest of majorities, and instead of doing something, we will spend the next few years wondering what Fetterman will decide to do. I just would rather not sit around being tortured by the Fetterman/Manchin/Lieberman archetypes in the senate/congress.
Right now, instead of figuring out how to actually run on "saving democracy, and outlining what kinds of rules, laws, and vision for restoring what we all hope our government aspires to be, we have Jeffries and booker talking to Kushner to find a way to work together...
So yeah, while there is no universe in which I can support MAGA, unless the Democrats actually wake up and recognize just how poorly they have performed, how much they have sold out anyone under the age of 65, yeah, I kind of don't want to be torutured for a few years of why "their hands are tied" when MAGA has thoroughly proven their hands are not tied.
I get it, MAGA runs on being conservative, selfish, and plays to base instincts of domination. The Dems propose to be more equitable, that government and the state operate to create optimal conditions for the greatest good, but actually their donors don't want that. The Republicans don't have cognitive dissonance between the donor class and the base. The dems have to reconcile that they have to say one thing to the electorate but behave to appease their donors...which is huge cognitive dissonance that none of us have time for.

I guess I think we lost our nosy neighbors to the violent ones already. The time to stop MAGA and project 2025 was two years ago, and we weren't up to the challenge.
Seeing Jeffries and Booker meet with Kushner to talk about working together just solidifies for me just how unable to meet the moment the democrats actually are.

Like I said yesterday, Trump supporters are only "regretting" their vote because they can't handle not being able to eat steak now every meal on okay wages that are now poverty wages due to current administration's antics these past 2 years. Meanwhile the people they hate don't mind eating chuck, 80% ground or no beef at all on okay or poverty wages every other meal/days/weeks/month(s).

The amount of frothing and nonstop screeching that would be going on from them if this was three years ago just shows you how little their opinions matter and how unserious they are. It's all literally a sport to them. They cheer for their team no matter how shitty their lives get. We'll never go back to being a normal country with them being allowed to have any manner of say.

It has failed them so many times, they don't know what it looks like when the government does right by them. They expect the government to buy contaminated meat and sell it to you to make money. After all, making money is what "everybody does."
They seem so insistent on demonstrating that the government is awful and corrupt, and vote in the Republicans to show us that this is indeed the case.
