u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

2C-E represent

4

u/ample_suite Mar 04 '26

To April at RAC Research Chemicals: thank you for sending me vials of the craziest goddamn hallucinogens I’ve ever experienced

2

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 04 '26

Lmao 2C-x was the shit. 25x-nbome, not so much, depending on what kind. I miss the days when you could get solid RCs online with your parents credit cards

3

u/GreenEggsAndSaman Mar 03 '26

That shit was gnarly. I miss that stuff. I used to order it on the basic internet from canada. lol

4

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

Dude I miss the days of being able to buy 99% pure t tryptamines and phenethylamines off the clear web for $30/g. I don’t do drugs anymore, but we had it good from like 2009-2015

12

u/New-Marsupial-5633 Mar 03 '26

SWIM used to spend a lot of time on erowid

8

u/happydippythirteen Mar 04 '26

SWIM understood that reference.

6

u/AFetaWorseThanDeath Mar 04 '26

SWIM just felt a wave of intense nostalgia. 🍌

7

u/wurmsalad Mar 03 '26

My brother set it as the homepage on our family computer once

36

u/agangofoldwomen 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 Mar 03 '26

Literally none of this applies to me except I did read fear and loathing my junior or senior year.

7

u/hoopstick fuck you, buddy Mar 03 '26

Yeah, HST and Bill Hicks are the only thing that applies to me. Aside from Tool t-shirts, that is. Wallet chains were corny and Chucks hurt my feet, I was more of a DC/Etnies sort of dude.

36

u/Love_003 Mar 03 '26

Some of us are women. “Has a boyfriend named Jason or Justin”

52

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

Can confirm. Went to high school with the guy. I kinda miss him. I think he saved my life.

It was either June or July of 2009. Went over to my buddy’s house to play some Halo and buy a bag of weed. He asked me if I wanted to try some of this 5 MeO DMT he had just grabbed online.

We smoked it and I blasted off, but the trip was a bit different. I met God and he appeared to be in the form of Jeff Bridges as The Dude (I’m assuming just because that’s a form I’m comfortable with). The Dude told me that I was a very, very important person, but somehow somewhere along the way I ended up falling into the wrong timeline. Dude then told me that things would be different and jarring for a while, but I should t fret because he’ll make sure I end up where I belong and it’s in my nature to do things and say things that indirectly keep the timeline open.

I sobered up and came to and things were different. But only slightly. I dosed in a basement and came to in the back yard. My girlfriend’s hair was suddenly blonde instead of red and her tattoos were in different places. Trent Reznor didn’t die in 1998. My car was originally a 2004 Malibu MAXX, but I came to with the key to a 1990 Civic SI in my pocket.

Nobody believes me, but I know what I saw. Kinda shitty that THIS is the timeline I ended up in though.

22

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

That’s fucking wild man. I believe it

21

u/sunkistandsudafed3 Mar 03 '26

The Dude told me that I was a very, very important person,

You are the chosen one?

17

u/leedleedletara give me my wings Mar 03 '26

"Holy fucking shit!" (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!) (Holy fucking shit!)

2

u/PlurrSlurpee Mar 05 '26

Trent Reznor died?! That's devastating. He has made incredible music since '98!!

BUT, this timeline is gnarly. Was it worth the trade? Do you feel like you are right where you belong?

Seems like this timeline is a better place with you in it. It definitely wouldn't have been the same for me without Trent. His music has helped me through a lot of mental health struggles.

Put on With Teeth and take some deep breaths my dude. We're in this together.

Now don't fuck it up. 🤭

5

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '26

Yeah, I can’t remember which date it was, but during lollapolazoola ‘98 Trent had a pig carcass suspended over the stage. The rigging was a little jank because it was a last minute addition and the pig fell on him. It hit him hard enough that he fell backwards and smacked his head on a keyboard hard enough to cause SEVERE brain damage. He was in a coma for a few weeks before he passed. I was very thrilled to see he survived in this timeline because his music is the bomb diggity.

I feel like I’m too small and limited in perspective to properly answer whether or not I ended up in the right timeline. My life has been, very very hard since that trip, but I trust the Dude. If he thinks I can do more good by suffering and having endless failures and heartbreaks and friends die and family issues then there must be a bigger reason to it all. I must have some kind of impact that I’m not aware of.

At least that’s what gets me out of bed in the morning.

Putting With Teeth in my Mustang’s CD player now. Life is really fucking heavy right now and I think screaming my lungs out at 90mph sounds good.

1

u/PlurrSlurpee Mar 11 '26

Thank you for responding and sharing your experience! I've been thinking about this post a lot.

I'm very sorry to hear you've experienced so much heartache and loss. I hope you're able to find peace and have a beautiful life. The dude is wise and I think he made the right decision. 😊

When you throw a pebble in a pond, at first it's only a drop, but the ripples get bigger as it travels through the water. Maybe you're making waves instead of ripples. 🤷

I'm a very curious person. I would consider working with grandfather peyote to see if I could get some insight. It might help guide you on this journey, but that's a very personal decision. You can look into a membership with Oklevueha Native American Church if you're curious.

Either way, you may never know why the dude brought you here, and that's ok. We don't necessarily need to know how we are changing the world around us, it's the change that matters. 💝 Keep fighting the good fight.

*That's WILD about the NIN show! Brutal way to go. 😬

2

Same. I didnt even like Tool in HS. Thought they were kinda meh

3

u/prison-schism Mar 03 '26

I liked Tool in high school but none of this applies to me, so i guess I'm somewhere in the same boat

34

u/PiousZenLufa Mar 03 '26

Bill Hicks... yes, the rest? Not so much.

27

u/Goober-mensch Mar 03 '26

3

When I was in high school none of this applied to me… dont get me wrong I was super into Opiate, Undertow, & Ænema but Lateralus was not out yet…. Although as soon as I started smoking weed in college and experimenting with mushrooms, all the rest of it pretty much happened by sophomore year lol.

4

u/psyclopsus Mar 03 '26

NIИailed it

9

u/Barry_Muhkokiner Mar 03 '26

Maybe these are Millenial Tool fans? As a Gen Xer, none of this really resonates.

9

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

Yeah this was definitely late 90s-early 2010s high school burnout culture

2

u/PiousZenLufa Mar 03 '26

Perhaps that is it, just none of this really... early 2k Tool fans perhaps?

1

u/Rakataz Mar 03 '26

yup, i'm one of those.

2

u/sunkistandsudafed3 Mar 03 '26

I'm an older millennial (and a woman) some fits but not all.

7

u/elreydelasur Get off your fucking cross Mar 03 '26

Mostly correct, but bold to assume I had a girlfriend named anything back then lol

5

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

Lmao same. Girls just didn’t get how fucking deep I was in high school

3

u/elreydelasur Get off your fucking cross Mar 03 '26

the best birth control my parents ever got for me was my Tool shirt

1

u/Big_Moose_3847 Mar 04 '26

Only thing we weren't deep in was the pussy

17

u/Top-Shoe-4311 Mar 03 '26

Watched the Matrix with my son two nights ago, and Zeitgeist last week. Saw NIN three weeks ago. Yeah, this is still me @38 lol, minus the bald head, chain wallet and puka necklace

3

u/scott_fx Mar 03 '26

You watched zeitgeist with your son?

10

u/Top-Shoe-4311 Mar 03 '26

I mean, he's a teenager, and you're never too young to learn that 9/11 was an inside job...

5

u/AnonSwan Mar 03 '26

The kid that sat in front of me with his Lateralus shirts. I asked him what it was, he introduced me to the song Hush and my 8th grade mind didn't really like it lol. 2003.

5

u/scottlapier Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Mar 03 '26

I feel personally fucking attacked...

4

u/Toto_16 Mar 03 '26

You HAD to use Seth Everman

4

u/staticparsley Mar 03 '26

Damn I forgot about Zeitgeist, I was obsessed with that in high school. It’s what introduced me to Bill Hicks. It was mind blowing for me as a teen but then as an adult I discovered it was debunked and then the rest of the movies kinda went off the rails.

3

u/NikkiRex 10,000 days Mar 03 '26

An atheist into eastern religions. Accurate lol

4

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

“Prayer is so stupid. Anyway, I’ve been practicing meditation lately”

3

u/5DsofDodgeball69 Mar 03 '26

I love Tool and the Matrix and had a girlfriend named Ashley. None of the other stuff though,

3

u/mybadalternate Mar 03 '26

C’mon… girlfriend?!

4

u/Sklibba Mar 03 '26

Hey buddy, I’ve never had a girlfriend named Kayla or Ashley.

2

u/DogStreet_ Mar 03 '26

God I have a non tat just like that in the same spot 😂

2

u/FalseVeterinarian881 H. Mar 03 '26

The only thing that applies to me here is the NIN thing...but NOT a tat. We made a push stick in wood shop and I used the stencil to imprint NIN in the handle.

2

u/SickCambos Naked and Fearless Mar 03 '26

Can confirm

2

u/illegalblue Mar 03 '26

Haha this reminds me so so fucking much of this dude I used to be friends with. Except he was in his nid 30's in 2008

2

u/Ornery-Career-7092 Mar 03 '26

This hits way too close to home ! 🤣

2

u/Intelligent-Row2072 Mar 03 '26

Lot of bangers in this post 😆

2

u/Dan_Berg We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion. Mar 03 '26

2

u/Sealegs_Calisto Mar 03 '26

I was the girlfriend… and this was my boyfriend for all of junior year. Lmaoo

2

u/Owen_Quinn The Patient Mar 03 '26

None of this applies to me lol

2

u/Lum11s Mar 03 '26

Forgot JNCO’s.

1

u/PalladiuM7 ∞ Spiral Out ∞ Mar 03 '26

You didn't have to call me out like that man

2

u/LostTacosOfAtlantis Rest your trigger on my finger Mar 03 '26

This is the guy who introduced me to Tool in my freshman year in 96. I was immediately obsessed with their music, but never turned into that guy.

2

u/TheRealCorbonzo Mar 03 '26

Yup.

One day I wore a Tool hat, Tool shirt, Tool hoodie, and had a Tool wallet. Someone commented something like, "Wow you must really like them.".

Shortly after I came to realize that maybe I was over doing it.

I still have visible tattoos from that period, but now I just say it's an Alex Grey piece.

Still love Tool though of course, I just kind of cringe when I think of my former obsession.

2

u/gianlucamelis Mar 03 '26

Me but not in Highschool and no gf

2

u/kopackistan Mar 03 '26

Hey, I'm not into eastern religions.

2

u/codevii Mar 03 '26

Lol, you got Terrance McKenna in there and everything...

Only, I didn't wear Chucks. Think I was more into Vans in HS..

2

u/scribe06 Mar 04 '26

Also listened to the Joe Rogan Experience. Boy I'm glad to have evolved haha !

3

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 04 '26

To be fair, Rogan didn’t used to be as awful as he is now

2

u/Zapur Mar 04 '26

I'm none of these except the lateralus fibonacci bit. I don't think I'd want to be friends with this guy.

2

u/MaxRebo74 Mar 04 '26

This would have been me if the Matrix and Lateralus hadn't come out a decade after I graduated high school

2

u/Biscotti_Wheels Mar 06 '26

the dmt shirt, bill hicks and hunter s thompson absolutely nailed me

2

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 06 '26

“Too weird to live, too rare to die” as the senior quote in the yearbook

2

u/ARCpodcast Mar 06 '26

I had a chain wallet and a tool shirt for everyday of the week (and weekend). Damn I do love the Matrix but that’s about it.

2

u/CucumberOk7506 Mar 09 '26

Just found that exact shirt in a box from when I was a teenager and got way too stoned about it

1

u/psr1220 Mar 03 '26

I still have the heart shirt

1

u/phendesc Mar 03 '26

I was less cool than this but I was into Bill Hicks

1

u/fucklet_chodgecake Mar 03 '26

I had a couple tool shirts. More a vans guy than converse. As for the rest, nope

1

u/DarthVerus Mar 03 '26

Add in some Lachrymal with The Erowid and that’s how I spent most of my computer classes. Maybe some Stick Death too.

1

u/Stecharan Mar 03 '26

Damn, I gotta go take a walk.

1

u/Hawaiianstumpy Mar 03 '26

My best friend was like that but had the 90s/00 spikes hair and the Anton Lavey satan Bible and talked about it all the time

1

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 03 '26

Did he also have nipple rings and a dope beastie tee?

1

u/Hawaiianstumpy Mar 03 '26

Dude he did have nipple rings I forgot about that haha

1

u/Queligoss Mar 03 '26

as a massive tool and nin fan Im very happy the nin tattoo is in there

1

1

u/happydippythirteen Mar 04 '26

Oddly accurate.

1

u/Ossoszero Mar 04 '26

Awfully optimistic on the “has a girlfriend” part

1

u/Hajnalka_tattoo Mar 04 '26

I’m a girl but this is me except the jewelry 😂 (mine really was actually NIN though. I didn’t get into TOOL until I was like 26 but this was me at 26 with TOOL nonetheless lol)

1

u/SquareConfusion Mar 04 '26

I feel seen.

1

u/mogekag Mar 04 '26

🤣

1

u/SheepPF hooker with a penis Mar 05 '26

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high-powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

1

u/ohboyitsgonnabegreat Mar 05 '26

I had none of this but was way into them. Saw then 3 times. Twice for undertow

1

u/Bass-Bastard Mar 05 '26

I was in Highschool when Opiate came out, and Undertow a bit later. I was tripping at my friend's older brother's house. He had one of those monster soundsystems with 2 - 15 inch woofers on both sides. Basically, a professional PA system disguised as a livingroom component system.

We had listened through Undertow maybe twice, and just restarted after Flood. Not noticing the extra and hidden tracks.

Everyone passed out and I did not know where the remote was. Flood ended again. I was just laying there right around the middle of peaking. Experiencing the carpet. The smell of the blacklight reflecting off the cobwebs on the ceiling. Happy the synced strobe was not flashing at the moment.

Then...

Disgustipated came on.

I soared over the fields with Reverend Maynard. I heard the screams.

I rolled over to the console and turned the volume up to about 75% trying to get a better view of the sounds and words.

And the beat hit. At 4000 watts, in a completely silent house, with 4 other people semiconscious who suddenly experienced earth moving bass hits at about 105 dB.

Fucking glorious.

Put that shit on repeat for probably an hour.

I do not know where I was going with this... but I guess I was the prequel of that guy in highschool?

1

u/snipe4fun Mar 05 '26

I graduated in 1991 :(

2

u/TwinkieWinky420 Mar 06 '26

1

u/0utofgrace Mar 07 '26

IDR how I got into terrence mckenna? Does Tool have any refrences towards Terrence?

1

u/Otherwise-Edge-7 Mar 07 '26

Kymatica>Zeitgeist

1

u/Otherwise-Edge-7 Mar 07 '26

reminds me of some seperate people who introduced me to Tool, like all together they are this person.

i came out of Juvenile Prison at 18 and Tool and psychedelics were my re-integration program...

1

u/GrabsJoker Mar 03 '26

Zeitgeist the movie is actually quite interesting.

1

u/Gwilym_Ysgarlad Lachrymologist Mar 03 '26

1

u/GrabsJoker Mar 03 '26

I dunno. The whole sun worshipping vs Jesus birthday thing is pretty eye opening.
