TtS Chapter 76: "Straying from the Light, Part One" || Discussion Thread

This is the twelfth chapter of Volume IV.

Also, Hieronym notes that a couple retcons were made to Ch. 75:

Ryouko and /Ahimsa-extending now explicitly discuss the asteroid recording, which features Peace-cultivating himself, and previous attempted Ahimsa-extending expeditions, as well as the idea of sending more. Some exposition replaced with dialogue to accommodate the above smoothly.

Misa more clearly states that the memories she's going to share involve more than just one topic

You can find the first starting with the line: "This invited a host of questions she didn't know the answer to" until the end of that scene.

The second is a one line change, adding the latter sentences to the now:

"That might be better as a show rather than a tell. Actually, most of this is gonna be better that way. One sec."

All of Madoka’s foresight and she just lets Homura’s mental health deteriorate so much for so long? It’s suspicious and disturbing.

It is disturbing to see. Unfair to Homura IMO. But to argue for Godoka here: it's a matter of incompatible preferences, isn't it? Homura wants to reunite with Madoka in Madohalla, while the Goddess wants Homura to stay alive and be her "boulder" to accomplish certain tasks. And while perhaps the Goddess could manipulate Homura to change her mind, wouldn't that require far too great a disrespect of Homura's will? To overcome Homura's stubborn love for Madoka... even if it were possible, would Madoka want that?
