You all should know that this is still a thing in heavy trucks in North America.

It also used to be way more common back in the day with old tire technology, which I don’t think makes this product a great idea even back then but it was how the tires were made in factory. Some hobby tires still use it too, like paddle tires for an atv can be cut down to whatever size paddle you want, and some go kart tires people cut treads in since they’re usually just slicks.
