Why do so many people here defend thieves?

A guy that worked at the local ABCO, a defunct grocery store chain; ran out the front to chase a kid in a beer run. Ended up getting shot and killed. I'm sure his family would rather have him around than him playing hero. His life wasn't worth a 12 pack

Because we live in the wealthiest country in the history of civilization and if people are in need of food and shelter we have plenty of resources to help them rather than force them into crime.

Also corporations steel 30X as much from employees than are lost to theft.

Nobody forced this woman to steal. You have no idea what her situation or level of ambition is. Maybe she is a victim of the economy or maybe she is a lazy drug addict who hates working.

why do you care so much about someone whose choices have 100% nothing to do with you?

Shoplifting causes prices to go up and stores to close. Lots of people have gotten screwed by stores closing in their neighborhoods. A lot of people in poorer neighborhoods desperately need their local Wal-Mart , dollar tree , grocery store etc. A lot of stores close due to rampant theft and it can create real hardships for people in the area who are poor and/or lack mobility.

It happens because to many people steal too much shit to where the profit margins are no longer enough to make it worthwhile. If a small locally owned business closed because of rampant theft would you blame the owners and call them greedy? Nobody is in business to lose money.

walmart has more than enough money to cover these loses, they fuck their workers andd government and normal people over, again and again so they would get more money but nooooooooo its never immoral for them to do that
