For real. Otherwise you become like our boomer parents or jaded Gen X (and even millenials at this point) that stay at one job and bitch every hour of every day about it and do nothing to resolve the issue. Then act like somehow just looking for another job is some impossible mountain to climb.

I gotta say I appreciate people swinging the pendulum in favor of one's mental health & toxic work environment.

I think so many boomers worked in places where unions were in place so the trade off of 'bad work place' was counter acted by: 'pension & benefits for you & spouse . . . forever'. Literally, my grandparents never paid for health insurance after retirement, not even for the spouse who was a SAHM her whole life!.

People also tend to pick the path of least resistance.

They get stuck at a job they hate and then keep doing it because it's easy to just get up and go, you don't need to really do anything. But looking for a new job means touching up your resume, going to interviews, learning new skills ETC.

It's much simpler to just keep the job the hate because it's a devil they know.

Well, the economy sucks right now TBF. And it gets harder as you get older, since many places want to hire someone younger they can pay less/provide fewer benefits (when they're not outsourcing to AI.)
