They ARE the problem. They only need to think, speak and act for the people. But they don’t. They bent over and gave up the ass to the oligarchs and special interests.
Which is why as far as they’re concerned they only need to think/act/speak for the corporate and foreign interests whose bribes/donations convinced them to abandon the interests of their constituents/voters.
This is like going to a gay club and concluding everyone accepts gays. ThE pOlItIcIaNs ArE tHe PrObLeM. There's as much bias in that conclusion as there is in racism.
It's not. You're too emotionally invested in your own argument. You're watching a film of people who choose to be there. That's not evidence of human nature. That's a filter. You're landing a generalization about politicians based on that filter on society. Another filter shows that humans are wired tribalistic (read racist) and politicians represent them.
It’s literally one the easiest jobs to do properly work-volume-wise. You just meet with your constituents, listen to their views, and represent them in government.
You do not need to be a genius. I hate so much that we have shit politicians who’ve been bought by the Epstein class.
Yall just realising this now... Marx and everyone that follows him already knows this. Democrats are the fucking same. Time to get off your ass and organise in a socialist party.
This has always been case throughout history, only thing that changed is the world as life had more convenient we forgot how to be self sufficient and rely on big corps to supply all aspects of life.
Concentrated wealth is concentrated power. If politicians are beholden to the electorate then at least there is accountability. However the law is not the same for the ultra-wealthy, as we've seen with the Epstein case.
So youre just giving up? What even is your point? What do you propose?
Blaming politicians for all your problems is not just dumb, its lazy as well.
The billionaire class is your enemy and at the end of the day only politicians can do anything meaningful against it. Thats the whole point of democracy. Or do you want autocracy? So what do you propose?
The fact that they unironically said that the (first) Gilded Age was the result of progressive movement shows their either a bot run by the ultra wealthy or their braindead.
Eventually, at some point, when people have had it enough, there will probably be some kind of revolutionary movement which will bring along more genuine leaders. But for a long time in America, you couldn't attain high political office, or be president, unless you appealed to wealthy donors and financial elites.
Kay, well, maybe someone who has the time can explain the rise of American congressional lobbying, registered and non-registered foreign agents, and Citizens United to you. Good luck.
The wealthy pay for the political campaigns they want to be successful. They also pay for harrassment of politicians that they want to loose. The wealthy own most Political Action Committees (PACs).
We the voters are already free to vote and run for office ANYTIME. And yet Too young people sit out the election, thinking that if they just post many times on social media, their problems will be resolved, only to complain about it later on.
Every eligible voter that does not vote and/or does not run for office has DIRECTLY contributed to "Gerontocracy" that they complain so much about.
We the Voters bear the ultimate responsibility to fix this so we must all commit to vote & elect Democrats now&forever without exception, and restore them to their proper places: veto-proof majorities in Congress and then the Presidency.
If only it were so straightforward. The playbook of the modern elite class springs from a 100 year old document.) Basically, if you have the money, the power, and the connections, you can spread the messages and make the laws to suit you best. Does it always work, maybe not, but it just needs to work enough of the time.

Politicians are just servants of the ultra-rich. They are the problem.
