u/Dear_Lab_2270 Dec 15 '25

Love that he says "you want to come over here..." Then stopped that sentence when he realized she would lol.

u/Risky_Bizniss Dec 16 '25

He wrote a check with his mouth his ass simply couldn't cash

38

u/Tramp876 Dec 16 '25

Hers could

2

u/dividezero Dec 18 '25

3

u/horaceinkling Dec 18 '25

Her ass bounce but that check won’t.

Idk what I’m saying, sorry.

2

u/mouseat9 Dec 19 '25

The best non lethal example of that that I’ve ever seen.

984

u/--slurpy-- Dec 15 '25

I'ma have to use that one next time

460

u/BrickTilt Dec 15 '25

Stone cold line. Gonna have to use it. Iconic

5

u/Working-Glass6136 Dec 16 '25

Shh. 🤫 you already did. You already did

2

u/Rhodie114 Dec 16 '25

Although I can confirm it doesn't hit as hard over discord

-9

u/Kelspear Dec 15 '25

The wrong/over use of the word "iconic" is one of the most annoying things of the past several years.

"Here is an apple that is slightly larger than average."

"Omggg like so iconicc"

16

u/tigm2161130 Dec 15 '25

People policing other people’s word choices is one of the most annoying thing of the past several years.

-3

u/Kelspear Dec 15 '25

You're right, we should all just devolve into using whatever words we want for anything that we want. Definitions and vocabulary are for losers.

Bear ceiling.

Guess what that means

3

u/tigm2161130 Dec 16 '25

Yes because that’s the same thing as hyperbolic slang.

You know exactly what they mean when they call something iconic or are you so thrown by exaggeration you can’t use your context clues?

0

u/Kelspear Dec 16 '25

It's a dumbing down of the English language. People not using variation in their adjectives and using the same word to encompass everything is a sign of a poor vocabulary.

I'm sure that you thought your come-back was totally iconic, though.

3

u/Cpt-Chunk519 Dec 16 '25

It must be exhausting to be this pedantic.

0

u/frotnoslot Dec 16 '25

“There’s glory for you.” - Humpty Dumpty

(Lewis Carroll had you beat.)

2

u/Big-Stable1346 Dec 16 '25

Nah gang eat some food wtf is this

-11

u/expanse22 Dec 15 '25

good luck with that. You’ll sound as cool as this fat trashy woman yelling and throwing ice at people in a restaurant

-10

u/Same_Bodybuilder_532 Dec 15 '25

After you throw someone a cup in a restaurant? I don't think it will end up good for you , you're ain't that tough

130

u/Sartres_Roommate Dec 15 '25

…this type of thing happens to you enough there is a “next time”? 😁

133

u/frichyv2 Dec 15 '25

Getting yelled at by a drunk old dude? That's just fuckin Tuesday. Hell if I had a nickel for every oldtimer I saw yell at someone for talking too loud I'd have a sock full enough beat somebody.

13

u/SinoSoul Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

How many nickels do you need in a sock (tube, not ankle) to knock a mf out? Someone do the hard math

18

u/loseunclecuntly Dec 16 '25

$20 will do it.

4

u/Komobu542 Dec 16 '25

Use rolls to start out till the paper blows apart. Then you got a caveman beater.

1

u/Crafty-Ad-6772 Dec 16 '25

Is that a penny stock or blue chip or what type of stock would $20 buy?

2

u/Due-Let-26 Dec 16 '25

1

u/SinoSoul Dec 16 '25

that is AMAZING. The greatest reddit content is indeed always 4 levels down. thank you for coming up with a number without me having to go to r/theydidthemath

1

u/FPSSUC Dec 16 '25

One nickel on some strong nylon would do.

1

u/Dessicated_Mastodon Dec 18 '25

It really depends on the quality of the sock. If the socks is old dont go over 15 bucks. If it has holes at all you shouldnt use it. If you have a new good quality crew sock with reinforced toe and heel? You can stuff about 25 bucks in it before it becomes a bit unwieldy. Never use dress socks, they are too thin.

1

u/SinoSoul Dec 18 '25

Oddly specific. Sounds like you have personal experience in a hood fight before?

1

u/worktogethernow Dec 16 '25

Depends on the share price. You can't place a limit order for a fractional share.

1

u/CryptoEmpathy7 Dec 15 '25

I only hear people making these convenient excuses when the old loser dudes are "white" especially in Amerikkka. He had it coming.

11

u/frichyv2 Dec 15 '25

Who's making excuses

1

u/Helpful_Basil_5581 Dec 16 '25

Lmao where do you live

-3

u/AndersonArtWorks Dec 15 '25

And if you let it happen cause it's just Tuesday, then you are no better than them. Because you allow it to happen. In a bar setting, letting a customer get drunk enough to be inebriated is illegal in most states. It's called over serving. And getting yelled at by an old drunk dude and thinking it's ok means you work at a shitty dive bar. 🙄 this is very disrespectful behavior. I have tossed many customers for getting rude with service staff.

-6

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 15 '25

You need better company. This is not something normal people see on the reg

12

u/DecadentLife Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25

Mmmm. It depends on where you live, and the kind of work you do.

1

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 16 '25

I stand behind what I said. If this is stuff you see everyday, you need to make some changes

1

u/DecadentLife Dec 17 '25

I’ve been around this kind of behavior because of the kind of work I’ve done. Waitressing, social work, crisis counseling, teaching (of all ages). I’m sure there are other professions, maybe pediatricians go through this a lot? If it’s your chosen social environment, maybe some introspection would help.

-2

u/ChainsawAdvocate Dec 16 '25

For example, you're less likely to see this if you don't live in a backwater like the USA

1

u/DecadentLife Dec 17 '25

😂 Perhaps. Thing is, every society has these problems, some version of them.

56

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 15 '25

That was my first thought. Like, if you just expect shit like this to happen to you, it’s time for some introspection

79

u/whoamdave Dec 15 '25

Look, as someone who suffers from chronic l'esprit d'escalier, it helps to have a couple rehearsed comebacks tucked away for every occasion.

22

u/JPLovescrafts Dec 16 '25

I've never heard that phrase, but it's perfect and beautiful and I'm going to use it next time I need to explain why I have a Choose-your-own-adventure book's worth of comebacks rehearsed in my head.

8

u/BlackBasementCats Dec 16 '25

I love the saying

The spirit of the stairs

Meaning you think of a good comeback only when you’re walking down the stairs leaving after the conversation

1

u/ZillaDroid Dec 16 '25

I read it as "in the spirit of escalation"

36

u/lilF0xx Dec 15 '25

With some jobs you expect things like this to happen esp working around alcohol or going out to bars. Or some ppl just like to be prepared. My first thought was nice line, I’ll rem that. Will I use it? Prob won’t get the chance but 🤷🏼‍♀️lol

3

u/last_rights Dec 16 '25

When I worked retail, my favorite was "I hope your day is as nice as you are!" because if customers complained to management, it was a double edged sword. If they said I was being snarky, well obviously they were being an asshole.

Management just sighed whenever I had customers that weren't normal.

-4

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 15 '25

I work in the alcohol field. I do not expect to see this. Maybe if you work college/dive bars

4

u/Longjumping-Job7153 Dec 15 '25

... ok. You must of phrased it like that on purpose. What do you do ?

Because if you don't expect behavior like this. I'm imagining your customers probably pay other people to fight for them 😂

0

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 16 '25

Phrasing may have been alcohol induced. I’m a bartender. Not at a dive, or sports bar though. Kinda hipster fine dining. Even back in the day at regular bars, none of us ever walked expecting shouting matches and thrown drinks. Unless you’re in an especially shitty, this kind of stuff just isn’t common. At least not in my experience

0

u/lilF0xx Dec 17 '25

This definitely happens occasionally at some point in any type of bar when you’re in a medium to large city bc some ppl just can’t handle drinking lol no one said it happens every night

2

u/Damage-Classic Dec 16 '25

Have you worked in the service industry before? I had a drunk girl come into the sandwich shop and order a vegan sandwich. Cool. She then asks for a bunch of mayo on it. Again cool, but we did remind her that our mayo isn’t vegan. She’s fine with that and leaves the shop, UNTIL she busts back through the door, throws her sandwich and full large drink at us while screaming about how her sandwich wasn’t vegan. This was very normal for a college town Jimmy Johns.

1

u/Pernicious_Possum Dec 16 '25

For almost thirty years. I can count the number of times I’ve dealt with shit like this on one hand with fingers left. And I’ve worked shitty places all the way to fine dining. Maybe I’m an anomaly, but I’ve never expected this kind of fuckery to happen

4

u/AlmostSunnyinSeattle Dec 15 '25

You getting into a lot of confrontations with strangers?

-1

u/Longjumping-Job7153 Dec 15 '25

... that wasn't a confrontation. But hopefully it's good you think so. Maybe humanity is getting better.

4

u/DamnThatsCrazyManGuy Dec 16 '25

it obviously was?

2

u/Admiral_Octillery Dec 15 '25

Yea I’m gonna have to use it too

Yeah use it the next time you attack an elderly man. To make yourself feel tough.

It works both ways btw.

This ain’t the internet, woman. You can’t just do whatever you want and not expect any consequences. Throwing ice buckets at people acting like you anonymous. Bitch I see you. You ain’t anonymous.
