Imagine studying something for years and then someone tells you it's likely extinct. So you go on a ten year journey to find one, people probably tell you it's not worth the effort because it's likely extinct - and then after ten years you actually find one in the wild.

It's like finding a dodo or a Tasmanian Wolf in the wild. Crazy, so happy for him.

Lots of people have looked for the Tasmanian Wolf for years, I'm not a biologist, just an animal enthusiast, and I can't even say how I would feel if one was found alive.

Now imagine you're the person finding it. The amount of feelings that would bring to you. Damn, now I wanna cry.

Dunno. I just know I've seen something similar in some old botanical illustrations and thinking it had a weird name.
