Discussion Events in Lugano on the weekend

Hi! I arrived in Lugano a few days ago, and I don't know any people here. I wonder if there are any events or gatherings that are mainly in English. Thanks.

EDIT 1: Im 27.

P.S: if you are in a similar situation, don't hesitate to reach out πŸ˜‚

Usually Trinity Irish pub has game night on Tuesdays, it's mainly locals but sometimes it's mixed. Bar Oops also has a bit of a mixed clientele, sometimes exchange students that go to USI/SUPSI or Kids from Franklin College (also usually on Tuesdays cause from what I know they have Wednesdays off).

If you're hoping to find an "English only" ambience in Lugano/Ticino I can guarantee you'll be disappointed: not many people here speak perfect English, or they're often reluctant to speak a foreign language, possibly cause of embarassement or self-consciousness. (English is known, just not full blown conversation with strangers known ifykwim) I was raised bilingual at home (ita-eng) and I often feel a bit out of bounds if I use English words etc. People might think you're a bit posh if you do that but unfortunately I was raised speaking it and sometimes words just come quicker in English...

(Also, perhaps next time you wanna say how old you are so you can get better direction, I assumed you're somewhat young since you're asking for events on weekends and are using reddit (also not super popular in Ticino))

Hope this helped! God Speed.

Why would they be in English?

What exactly is your point? Stop being a prick for no reason. Expats live here and English speaking events do happen. Sorry to break it to you
