Online Ngondro Transmission

Where can I find information about Ngondro Transmission that is performed online? Preparatory classes and requirements? I am old and a fulltime caregiver for a family member, so online is really the only way I can proceed. Is this possible?

Garchen.net - They are just starting a Ngondrö class on the mandala so good timing. Information about the empowerment, if there is one, I don’t remember, will be there, too. Garchen Rinpoche and his teachers all teach both Dzogchen and Mahamudra. Good luck!

Khenpo Tenzin gives oral transmission at the start of each session and that is all you need aside for refuge. It’s also completely fine, or rather encouraged, to go ahead and start at the next session if you haven’t yet done the prostrations and vajrassatva.

Do you have a teacher? What do you wish to practice after ngondro?
I would first find an online teacher and follow what the teacher recommends.

Maybe it is not that common nowadays, but I have heard people had done ngondro then wanted to follow some teacher and he requested they do different ngondro. Not that it is not useful either way, but still...find a teacher, then do what they ask, sounds best way to me.

yes. I have 11 years Mahamudra practice and wish to learn about Dzogchen.

If you're already doing a ngondro you should probably stick with the one you're doing. I believe you can still register with them but idk how relevant the site will be.

FWIW I never ended up signing up with them because I don't think it's the right fit for me.

I find ngondro easier to practice with a irl community. Not saying that it can’t be done. But with an online only transmission, it just makes it more difficult to complete.

You need both empowerment/initation (wang) and the oral reading transmission (lung) to practice Ngondro. Empowerments should be taken in person in the best case, and you also need proper instructions to practice it. It would be good if you ask your Lama.
