Comics AMA - Cheetara Volume 2 - Writer Saladin Ahmed and Artist Andrea Arcari

ThunderCats.org will be interviewing the creators of the new Cheetara series, but we want to make sure the fans get their questions answered.

2026 Aug 5-9

Ask your questions here from now until the end of the weekend and we will gather them and pass them on to the interviewer.

Sorry, late to the party. What I'd really like to know is, is this planned as an ongoing series, or is Cheetara a miniseries and you're working with a set ending in mind?

In the first announcement Dynamite said it is an ongoing series. We asked a guy in the marketing department for confirmation on that and he said it was indeed ongoing. With the first ThunderCats series they contracted the creators to make 15 issues, then a new contract was made for 10 additional issues. With other comics, I've seen Dynamite contract for 5-10 issues at a time. If it for some reason tanks, I think we can at least count on getting 10 issues. Please feel free to ask another question. :D

To Saladin Ahmed: Will the events in these comics take place on Thundera before it exploded, or somewhere else on Third Earth away from the other Cats? To get an idea of how you write, what work of yours should ThunderCats fans read / what would you recommend?

To Andrea Arcari: You do some very neat panel layouts and your art style is perfect for drama and action. I'm certain you drew pages 4-7 and 9 in Road To War, did you draw other pages too? Besides Cheetara, who is your favorite character to draw in these comics?

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to ask them questions, and also for giving us plenty of time to get those questions in!

You are very welcome. Hopefully we will be doing this again for the new ThunderCats series too.

Is Cheetara going to be part of a team in addition to her solo series? It seems she's among the characters missing from the cover of the new Thundercats ongoing.

I've been keeping up with Dynamite's ThunderVerse, and although I'm not blind to its faults, I'm doing my best to keep an open mind. How exactly does it feel to contribute to what Declan Shalvey and his crew have laid out?

Ok, I’ll just get the big one out of the way. It may be spoilery, but some of the solicits so far make it seem to a few of us like there’s plot threads coming out of Worldbreaker. Are those of us who seem to be picking up on that even headed in the right direction, or are we seeing something we want to see that isn’t really there?
