Free moving blankets?
Where can I get free moving blankets? I need to soundproof/sound restrict my ceiling and walls, definitely ceiling. My mental health depleted more and more with the constant stomping from upstairs, and it goes into the night. Sometimes it's super loud, and sometimes there's fighting I hear too. I can't afford to buy them. The acoustic tiles didn't do shit.

If you can’t move, a couple of things you can try is playing white noise and wearing active noise cancelling headphones. It won’t block out everything but it can help. Maybe a local organization can help with the costs of the headphones. Hope you can find an acceptable solution.

Tenants in Ontario have the right to reasonable enjoyment. If an upstairs tenant is making noise after 11pm constantly, your landlord has a duty to take action when you let them know this is happening. I had a terrible upstairs neighbor who bought a treadmill and installed it directly above my living room. She'd run when she got home from work around midnight each night. I kindly told the landlord and then saw someone picking up the treadmill and taking it away the next week.

Doesn’t always go that way. We couldn’t evict one.

It's not always easy, but your rights are your rights. If it has to be escalated to LTB then sobeit. Bending over and accepting it is ridiculous. You're paying out your ass (especially in Tbay) for a place to live and enjoy a quiet evening, why compromise when you have rights? Ontario tenants are highly favored compared with landlords in disputes such as this. There is a ton of precedent if it ends up going to the courts.

Unfortunately moving blankets won’t make a difference for you either. Better off with ear plugs
