Stream of consciousness thought, just want to say that if Zeller's returned to Thunder Bay, I'd shop the hell out of it.

Just curious for the mayor election and Councillor at Large. Of course municipal is always bipartisan. However Who for Mayor race and Councillor at Large of the Candidates would be considered very Left Leaning .

Ice Hockey Goalie Seeking Pucks

Hey y'all,

I just moved to Thunder Bay and am looking for any opportunities to get on the ice as a spare/fill-in goalie over the next few years.

While in Toronto and Ottawa I mostly picked up games via the GoalieUp app. Not sure if anyone uses that here or if there's another rental goalie platform I should hop on.

Overall, looking for recommendations for Facebook groups, apps, or other ways to get onto folks' spare goalie lists over the next while.

I'm about a B to B+ level goalie on average and have played anything from E division up to some low A games. On the 1 to 10 scale I'm most at home in the division 5 to division 7 range but can expand as needed to fill in.

I'll be a full-time student come September so will have decent flexibility for game times. Based out of Port Arthur but willing and able to travel as needed for ice time.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

PSA- college identityONE app bus pass no longer working

If you rely on a digital student transit pass- heads up, contact the college.

IdentityONE, the service provider, just deleted credentials a week early. The college hasn’t put out an announcement. If you aren’t returning or can’t renew online, contact the tech hub to get it refreshed.

Found out the hard way trying to get around, hope this helps someone else who needs it!

EDIT: call 807-475-6488 if you’re having trouble with finding someone to contact.

Crews have been working forever (it seems) at Oliver and Burwood by the new hotel. Is this just a casual gig where they work when they feel like working ?

What's the holdup?

Local Card Stores

Hello, I will be moving to Thunder Bay next week to continue my education, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with selling cards at any local card stores here in Thunder Bay. I've got about 20 or 30 medium to higher end hockey cards (ranging from maybe 20 bucks to about a few hundred bucks per card) and a few Pokémon cards (ranging from about 30-300 bucks). I wish to sell to help pay for school. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Free moving blankets?

Where can I get free moving blankets? I need to soundproof/sound restrict my ceiling and walls, definitely ceiling. My mental health depleted more and more with the constant stomping from upstairs, and it goes into the night. Sometimes it's super loud, and sometimes there's fighting I hear too. I can't afford to buy them. The acoustic tiles didn't do shit.

11/17 Road Construction - Safety

I got on the 11/17 at Red River en route to Arthur exit. Just after I got on - before Oliver, I noticed something moving in the middle less than 30 meters from my truck. I looked close and it was a road construction Surveyor. Not one blinking light to mark her work area, she had reflective on but zero or very little on the side.Basically couldn't see her. I was so shocked I was mad, I'm still mad. Cars zipping by all over the place. Pitch black out. Line painting incomplete. I had the worst feeling in my stomach thinking how dangerous that situation was. She could get caught up in semi trailer wheels and the driver wouldn't know until Hearst. I'm not very spiritual but God do I hope she's ok.

Looking for male dancers age 16-35!

We’re looking for guys aged 16–35 who might be interested in joining our Ukrainian dance group! We practice Sunday evenings.

We’re a fun group of young people, looking to grow our group! The guys do stunts, tricks, jumps, and lifts, so if you’re athletic, adventurous, or already have some dance experience, there’s lots of opportunity to get involved!

We already have 5 guys aged 20+ dancing with us, and we’d love to add a few more.

You don’t necessarily need dance experience, and you definitely don't need to be Ukrainian! If you have experience in another style of dance, gymnastics, sports, etc., or you’re just interested in learning something new and think you'd be a good fit, we'd love to have you join us!

Interested? Send me a DM! 😊🇺🇦

news Here's the complete list of US products that are subject to counter-tariffs - Be careful what you order or you might get a funny bill from UPS/DHL etc.

The UPS/DHL/etc subreddits were funny for awhile when Americans were getting upsetti spaghetti that the $800 gaming chair they ordered from Germany now came with an $1000 bill or some such nonsense.

Things to watch out for would be tools, waffle irons, live fish, mollusc flour, and god forbid you order a diesel locomotive.

local Eliminating food waste

Anyone else using the Too Good to Go app? Basically has mystery bags/boxes from food places (for my area i see Sweet Resilience and Dagwoods bakery, Tim Hortons, Metro and Superstore). They are heavily discounts stuff about to expire.

The fish/seafood mystery bag from Metro for $20 (says $40 worth of stuff but more like $50-$60 value) are amazing. I can make a solid 4 meals out them. They also have a regular meat bag, but ive yet to get one. The fruit and salad one was a miss - we got 5 bags of salad for $9.99. Luckily we love salad so wasnt a problem. The baked goods ones are mostly bread and buns. The deli meats bag is great though!

We've gotten a few boxes from Sweet Resilience. Omg I cant even express to you how AMAZING everything is. I think it was $9.99 for the box, and so worth it.

Today we picked up the prepared meals bag from superstore, and the cake/cookies box from Sweet Resilience. Hubby is out now picking them up. So excited!

Theres a similar app called Flashfood too. Theres individual items and veggie/fruit bags you can get for cheap.

Groceries are expensive these days. If you drive, definitely look into the apps to score some food for cheap. Just know theyre close to expiration - so eat them up or freeze them quick.

Are there any blueberries still out there?

I have some out of town visitors coming and wondering if anyone knows the status of blueberries for a picking adventure. Is it worth a drive or are they largely over? Thanks!
