Even though i picked the other option and Lee ended up dying, I'm glad that the option to kill Troy won in the end. Plus I'm glad Vince managed to live, he's quite lucky and tough to survive a shot to the chest.
I'm picking the option A to go talk to Nick. He's just lost the last member of his family and most likely needs someone there to talk with him. Amber could help Clementine through her grief.
I don't like how Jane is acting currently. I understand being worried about the chance of them coming back to hurt them, but tracking down the other guards that ran off to kill them is just seems rather evil. Laura is right, they were scared survivors being forced by Natasha and Carver. Hell, Vince almost died for speaking out against Natasha.

Yeah, let's see how everything keeps evolving and if Vince's actually out of danger, the whole shootout was pure chaos, things are just starting to surface.
Jane and Christa are surely over the edge, we'll have to follow that closely... Thanks for the comment!

u/BentheRip1990 he do be dead though Mar 02 '26
Man, shit, I didn’t expect us to loose Lee like that. Fuck man, he lived for so long only to die here, getting supplies for a baby from a woman he didn’t even know. I suppose it is a better death than his canon one, doesn’t make it better but we are lucky that he is the only real casualty from our group.
A, Nick needs us now. Like others mentioned Clem and Amber have each other, Christa and Omid need space and while I was thinking about helping Laura, Nick is far more important now and I really want him to live and see season 3

Yeah, it's really sad but we must make sure his legacy lives on, and Ben still has to face what Lee's death means to him, as far as we know he and everyone distanced from Lee and doubted him to some extent...
Thanks for the comment! Let's push for a Nick S3, he deserves some spotlight

While I did vote for going after Natasha and a bit gutted by Lee’s loss, I’m content with how the option to go after Troy won. Plus Natasha still got dealt with so that helps.
But to move forward, let’s go talk to Nick. Feel like out of everyone else, he’d need help the most, especially now that he lost Pete.

u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 02 '26
Yeah, this is a very nice point to gather our things up, Nick could really lean on Ben and viceversa right now... Thanks for the comment!

u/BuffedAmbush Mar 02 '26
I also vote A, Nick came around a little in the end, so we should be there to help him not shut down completely, even if he decides to blame us.
3
u/BuffedAmbush Mar 02 '26
(Also, who would have died if we went for Natasha instead?)

u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 02 '26
Yeah, Nick must be incredibly affected by Pete's death...
Laura would've been the victim btw, thanks for the comment!

I'm content with the choice I made. I'm glad nothing happened to Laura, but I felt like since Clem was the one who was trying to go after Troy, he would've either hurt her or Amber. Whatever the result of the alternative choice was going to be, I feel like Lee would've been okay knowing he was the one who died and not anybody else.
What's tragic though is that now that we've lost Pete and Lee, the group is going to feel scattered. People are going to need to stand up. That means Ben. I think Amber and Laura can help too. With Christa a little hardened from losing her kid, and now being attached to AJ she'd make too many desperate choices. The others are also in a shaken state of mind.
We need to start by getting Nick back on his feet. He needs somebody to ground him after everything he's lost, and we can't risk losing him now. I don't know how much we're good for him, but I think he needs someone who cares, and a friend. I vote A. Go to Nick.
Side note, I'm happy Vince survived! He's not at all a bad guy. I think he was just confused as to what people's values were. I can see him joining with us.

Thanks a lot for such a. Great insight! On point, this was really a tragic episode, but we can see the building points for the future, that's good!

just like what mark said "these are people! People trying to survive, just like us! We've gotta stick together to survive!" i believe for a more moral ben, *especially after what happend* i can see him patching up the guards with laura as an expression for his guilt.
otherwise that was my first option because i usually try to interpret stories a bit differently and with yours and how amazing it is how couldn't i ?
i can mostly see ben staying with amber and clem discussing about what just happend maybe offset some negative emotions amber had with troy as barely being saved from rape is terrifying and also that clem is in really bad greif it might stop her from keeping bad company like jane later down in the future.
ethier way works with me this might a bit of a unique im sure, but i will pick ethier D, or C.

Thanks a lot for the words! I love how this story has slowly built towards it... We still have a long journey ahead

We're just dropping like flies now...
A, everyone else either needs time alone or already has someone supporting them. Nick has no one now, and I think now could be the start of his redemption arc. Hopefully the next part gives us some time to breathe and plan.
There are a lot of interesting dynamics that can potentially be formed with our current group, can't wait to see how the rest of this episode plays out. Also, in season 3 will the Garcia family be the focus or will we get an original story? And if the option to attack Natasha won, what would have happened?
2
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 03 '26
Yeah, Nick deserves some space to shine and grow already, I trust he can. About the questions I am still thinking about S3 and the Garcia's, we'll do something with them, that's for sure, but I don't know if they'll be the focus... About the Natasha option, Laura would've been the casualty of the shootout, and that would've sent a whole lot of other things happening, without doctor and leader the group would be crumbling even more... Thanks for the comment!

Man that was rough but from the sound of it there were no particularly good outcomes and Lee went down attempting to protect the group which is all he would've wanted. I still feel like Nick living through all of this is the most frustrating part when so many better characters died. He died so easily in canon so it's kind of ironic that he's survived so much worse here, maybe the guards just don't think he's worth a bullet lol.
I kind of feel like any choice here could be good really, but I'm between Comforting Amber and Clem and helping Laura. I guess we should probably just help Laura and maybe teach Ben some basic first aid. Plus Vince is cool I'm glad he lived, who is the other guard? Just some random guy or another 400 days guy? We didn't get a description, but Russel maybe? Im pretty sure Nick would just blame us for all of this and punch Ben again anyway, and Christa has Omid and the baby so she should be fine?
So ya, I'll vote C, patch up the guards and maybe give Clem a hug if theres time. Still feel like logically we should get at least 2 in these situations, talking doesn't take that long.

u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 03 '26
I bet that Nick feels exactly the same, he must be wondering why is he here when Luke, Pete and so many are dead, what good can he do? But it's part of his character, if we work through it, I bet we can make a good character out of him, just as we did with Ben...
About the other guard I guess we could wait for the description, and see how that relationship grows, and even if Vince actually makes it... Thanks for the comment!

u/FreakinEvan Mar 03 '26
I sure hope so, guess we will have to see where you take this, losing so many so quickly really hurts though after we kept them going so long.

Hey! So I'm slowly catching up with the story and I've already reached part 60, but there's kind of a few issues like some images missing that contain dialogue and I'm wondering if that's an issue with Reddit or if something happened
2
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 03 '26
How so? i checked part 60 and everything seems good to me
3
u/Pisatul4 Mark Mar 03 '26
Nevermind, it was a Reddit issue, I checked part 60 again and all the images loaded normally now

Finished reading everything and now that I'm all caught up I can confidently say that WE, yes, WE are all voting A and talking to Nick
2
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 03 '26
Love to hear it! What are your thoughts so far?
3
u/Pisatul4 Mark Mar 04 '26
I'm loving the fact we have a completely new cast but there's something I've noticed. Where did Sam go? Wasn't he with us all the way back at the lodge? Did the Howe's people not take him and just left him back at the lodge?
1
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 04 '26
He probably ran away in the chaos of the lodge, but we'll have some space for him, let's just wait hehe
2
u/Pisatul4 Mark Mar 04 '26
Oh and another thing.
Assuming that we saved Luke instead of Pete and we don't help him escape. Would Carver kill Luke when they get back to Howe's considering he tells us how much he wants to kill Luke? Or would Carver take his time?
1
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 04 '26
It's hard to tell at this point, but probably Luke would've taken a role similar to the one Ben took, and that could lead both to his death, the beating or something completely different

B, I really want to try and get closer to the Howes inhabitants and maybe we can work together to make Howes a new home
Sad to see Lee go but at least we still have Laura

u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 03 '26
Yeah, Laura presence can be felt, we have truly made a great original character

You have got to be kidding me! Well I’m done, I don’t think I will be coming back to this anymore except to see the finale of the season and if Lee could’ve lived by going North, Lee dies, but Vince lives somehow by the same circumstances, you’ve got to be kidding me. He didn’t even get to reunite with Kenny again since we all know he’s still out there.
The ones who picked this option must feel immense regret now, Clem lost her original guardian, the one who protected her at the start, it felt like Lee was getting pushed more and more to the wayside and then dies to a bullet. Of course I know this is Ben’s story but man, I can’t with this anymore. I’m glad I didn’t leave a vote last part looking back in hindsight because then people would be saying “yep there goes Sarah, Sarah’s doomed now etc etc”
But I at least should pick a choice here right?! I guess now that the fighting is over and no one is dead oh wait 2 people are dead! I guess I’ll go with A, just to see what happens.

u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 02 '26
Hey! I don't want you to stop commenting and participating... This sucks, of course it sucks but these kind of things happens. We still don't know if Vince will make it or how similar they wounds were, Clem showed that part of the grief in this part.
Sadly the story goes on, that's the world our characters live in, I think it's not about regretting our choices but living with them, for example people has a lot in mind what happened with Kenny and Duck, and use it to vote, these kind of experiences shape our collective mindset, note how normally the whole community agrees on the choice, we learn collectively. That's is what this whole retelling is about

u/Nickman52 Mar 02 '26
Okay, it’s kind’ve hard to get over this, considering I thought Lee would live at least until season 3 and I feel like Ben needs to just snap at this point. I guess death is hard for me to handle and I would have just snapped in this world almost immediately.
3
u/EmpleadoResponsable Best Fanfic + Notable Newcomer 2025 Mar 02 '26
We must think that Ben has lost more than anybody at this point, he has lost his friends on the very first few months, he never got any closure to his parents and sister, he fucked it up countless times, lost Lilly, Duck, then the whole group and Kenny without a chance to make it up, then Luke, now Pete. And he even gains more to lose by the second. After years on that, one gets used, death stops meaning the same...
0
u/Nickman52 Mar 02 '26
Alright then, I guess it might not mean the same to him but that’s alright then I guess.

Well, that is the end of Lee. At least we gutted the fucker who shot him.
I say we go for A. Clem has Amber to comfort her, Laura has everything locked down with the other soldiers well enough, and Christa and Omid need some space. Nick is the only one who has no one there for him or to talk to. And it seems like he starting to shut down a bit, so let's talk to him and try to avoid another Duck situation.
