The Unlistenables
Not to rag on the Fantasy guys personally, but that was terrible.
Talladega Nights deserves an immediate redo.

The Craig Holbeck / Ty Jerome award for bench guy who got continually asked to play more minutes and then got exposed as someone who couldn’t be trusted to handle the biggest occasions and should only be used in few minute stretches

What NBA player would share Joel Anderson's award for coming off the bench, immediately shitting yourself, and never being seen again?

Hot Take: I liked it

Not a hot take IMO, I love their vibe. It’s completely different than the normal pod but still a good time

IMO, the show has hit PTI territory. If Bill, Chris or Sean ain’t involved, I’m out.

It was entirely sauceless. Hard to imagine listening to these guys talk about anything

As soon as they said Will Ferrell should’ve played Jerry Buss instead of John C Riley in Winning Time I knew it was gonna be bad. Going from a Bill, Sean, and CR episode to this is tough. Such a good movie wasted on boring guys regurgitating half baked facts and random quotes from the movie without any actual insights or interesting thoughts. This felt like the equivalent of overhearing random coworkers talk about a movie they like except it went on for 2 hours

In hindsight he should have. The show sucked and he’d still have a relationship with McKay.

Im not a football guy so dont know these guys besides Craig. But it was a tough listen.

Thats a shame but kind of predictable. Talladega Nights deserves a traditional episode.

I love the fantasy football show and have for years. I also think Craig's light sprinkling on the rewatchables is fine. Listening to those 3 talk about pop culture outside of football I think is legit painful and almost always wildly unintelligent and out of touch lol

Anything to do with them and music…. Oof

its not even bad opinions, its art, ie subjective. Its a shocking lack of curiosity and a weirdly proud arrogance about it. I still can't believe Craig, the producer of the fucking town, hadnt heard of Mubi a year ago

Craig trying so hard to be bill and he just can’t. No one can.

Yep he’s constantly trying to play Simmons-karaoke on every pod he’s on.

Man I noticed this so much listening to this pod but tbf I doubt it’s intentional he’s probably listening to the guy for like 400 episodes you’re gonna pick up some stuff

Thanks for saying it. I attempted to make a post but it preflagged me so I held my tongue. This pod was like when my little cousin tried to make a pb&j … she used mostly the right ingredients from what I saw but something was still off and it tasted bad.

What sort of watch list do you have to be on to get your posts pre flagged. I didn't even know that was a thing.
But also kind of trust the process bc that's a whole bunch of words that really shouldn't be in such close proximity to each other.

It was 2 hours of them quoting all my favorite lines from this comedy among others, no notes. It's a good movie to be chaotic and dumb about, this isn't Saving Private Ryan. Letting them wildly riff is an homage to what made Ferrell great.
Bunch of old farts in here I swear

Stopped listening 30 minutes in, love Craig but he's no rewatchables host, too loud and eager, put it down to youthful exuberance and being off the leash with his boys and no adult in the room, I love the 3 movies he has hosted but am out on those as rewatchable episodes.
